Hmm. He was never given any PP time under any coach. What makes you say this? - Nuck4U
AV used him a ton in a variety of ways. 1 was as a net front presence and he was good at it. |

I don't remember him getting much if any PP time. Wasn't that the whole amazement with his goal scoring days it was at even strength. Of the 191 goals he scored since 2005 only 18 were on the PP. The most he got was 4 under AV in 2010-11 season. |

sure but that doesnt mean he wasnt an excellent screen. That stuff doesnt go on the score sheet or stats. Henrik, daniel or edler benefited |

Megna had 2 assists tonight, that gives him a 20 game pass with WD minimum. - Retinalz
He's almost scoring at a David Booth rate. |

Thought we were talking hand eye for tip ins? That net front type. Otherwise LE, Bo and supposedly Tree could do the block the view job. |

Messier...
It'd be nice if we could get some actual net presence for a change. We haven't really had someone who would stand in front of the net and take the pounding since Bertuzzi. |

It tells you something about the style you play when you look throughout your lineup and ponder who can we get to go in front of the net . |

Trymakin would be nice to try in front of the net. It didn't work for Chara but it has worked for other large defence in the past. |

Interesting, does WD like Megna or what?
Canucks leading scorer Bo Horvat had less PP time (2:36) than 3-goal scorer Jason Megna (3:24) during 8:37 of advantages. |

I would say GUdbransen would be perfect for it but I don't think he is much for offensive puck battles. |

It was one of the very first things they tried with Tryamkin last season.

My biggest bi!ch about last nights game was when the 3rd goal was scored by PHili Burrows was on the ice not even 3o seconds after he was just on the ice killing a penalty for over a minute. Why was he even on the ice? Bad line management. |

At this point, we don't even HAVE a style of play. We used to be a cycling team with the Sedins managing to play keep away in the offensive zone, now they can't even hold on to the puck. The rest of the lines are a mishmash of good (Horvat, Baertschi), decent (Sutter, Granlund, Hansen), okay (Burrows) and poor (Megna, Skille, Gaunce). Not exactly condusive to playing anything but a poor man's version of Jacques Lemaire trap hockey with the 00's Wild hope and a prayer transition system. |

I really don't have high expectations this year, watching the new players work hard is all i'm looking for. Aside from the score it wasn't a bad game to watch. |

I don't mind the losing. I like it when we win but I don't mind the higher draft pick.
I would like to see JB get creative this year to make changes. I do hope the Twins retire at the end of the season.
I am almost wishing Benning went to Boston and asked if they want to trade for Eriksson and retain 1.5 per year. Another 5 years of this slug is mind boggling. He did score 30 with Krejci so maybe he would waive to go back. |

Honestly I don't see any problems with our 4th line. Chaput and Gaunce are good enough defensive players and Skille is very strong on the puck. The reason they sometimes look bad is because they are given too much ice time. |

Yep, I respect them as players but its time to move on. Same with the rest of the aging players the team is protecting. I accepted the fact JB let's them all ride off into the sunset for no return. Which is fine, just turn the page. |

I am not a big fan of Milestones . Hank will reach his 1000 this year and Danny may need another year to hit it so they may decide to stick here ( also 7 mil is hard to walk away from).

Random question of the day.
Lucic has not been overly successful so far in Edmonton.
But is producing at a better rate that Loui Erickson.
If we had a do-over, would the fan base still rather take loui or lucic ? - dbot
I would probably have 40 assists playing with McDavid.... All Lucic has to do is feed him the puck and change and he is good for atleast 1 point a night. I wouldn't worry about the number comparisons between LE and ML. |

Eriksson will get 30 here next season. He's been a 2nd year player every team he's been on. |
