Honestly I don't see any problems with our 4th line. Chaput and Gaunce are good enough defensive players and Skille is very strong on the puck. The reason they sometimes look bad is because they are given too much ice time. - NorthNuck
Plus the fact they should all be in the AHL. |

At this point, we don't even HAVE a style of play. We used to be a cycling team with the Sedins managing to play keep away in the offensive zone, now they can't even hold on to the puck. The rest of the lines are a mishmash of good (Horvat, Baertschi), decent (Sutter, Granlund, Hansen), okay (Burrows) and poor (Megna, Skille, Gaunce). Not exactly condusive to playing anything but a poor man's version of Jacques Lemaire trap hockey with the 00's Wild hope and a prayer transition system. - DariusKnight
lol ok Dragon take it easy.
All the players you mentioned with the exception of Gaunce have 'styles' of play.
The determining factor is getting it all to mesh together. The other issue is we really only have the personnel to put together two decent lines. Sedins 'style' has been picked clean apart by opposing teams so that leaves us the Horvat and Sutter lines. Once we start to really complement our 3rd and 4th lines with impact-type role players systems and styles will be much more prominent. Why are we expecting 'styles' when half our bottom 6 forwards and defense belong in the AHL? |

Fixed.
The crying over Horvat's usage is the most absurd, the guy plays a ton of tough minutes already (leads all Forwards in SH icetime, second most shifts per game) and the guy everyone is comparing PP icetime with (Megna) is on the same unit as him |

He's getting a lot of minutes for a 4th line centre. - Marwood
You know your team is hor-awful when your 4th line center is your mandetory all-star selection |

Speaking of WINE, do you have a suggestion. My wife brought home a German Riesling last Friday and it was great. Need a good Pinot Grigio or something tonight. |

Horvat is getting enough ice time I feel. I think he is making the most out of it too. I think people are just mad about his PP time in comparison to others... like Megna. The reality is, Horvat doesn't have enough gas in the tanks to play as much as he does at even, and as much as people want him to both SH and on the PP. The guy is only 1 person lol. People need to realize he can't be on the ice the entire game. |

He is getting plenty of icetime, given the frequency he goes out there (second most shifts of any Canuck this season) Willie wants to use him lots, but his average shift length is 42 seconds, 18th highest on the team. Pretty sure if he had more in the tank they would use him more.
I also think the Megna comparison for PP time has something to do with who they change with. Horvat goes for Henrik, who takes longer shifts. Criticize that all you want, but not much WD can do about it if the Sedins are too busy passing back and forth |

I think Chaput for sure and maybe Gaunce would be better suited for the A. But I have no problem with Skille as a 4th liner. He is not a liability and to my eye he seems good for posession. Fine replacement for Dorsett.
Also someone was posting the other day about Gaunces shot suppression numbers and they were actually quite impressive. His defensive game has been good |

Yah.
The interesting thing is the fact that Vegas has 48 hours to select their team.
I'm sure there could be a degree of wheeling and dealing during that window.
In theory, perhaps Benning could make a trade (an NTC or prospect/pick etc) on the basis of protecting an eligible player?
As ironic as it may be, I'd hate to lose Granlund/Sven or even (frank)ing Sbisa |
