Trading Kane is more about maximizing assets - chilliard77
If they trade Kane, then the Sabres will be searching for a big power winger/forward who can score, maybe forecheck as well as anyone and PK as soon as they deal him. Not sure if the D they get, if they get will be that great.
The Sabres wanted a scoring power forward for years before they got him. I think he'll be missed and will be a beast when they make the playoffs.

I don't understand how many don't get that. We get a forward that scores and then we hear "Lets trade him!! " usually for draft picks 3 -5 years away.

He's averaging ,75 points a game this year on 1 1/2 ankles. He averaged less last year. He is being wasted though in this system and with the linemates bylpoop gives him - turbo044
You can see by watching that his speeds not there and that's his best weapon
Like I said this year is a write off for him next year will be the year for him

Speed is there . He is lacking Control. Pay attention .

While I agree with you and you make a great point. Unfortunately we just don't have any other assets to get a good defenceman at this point. If Ennis, Girgensons or Moulson were better I'd say we could trade one of them for a top 3 LHD but obviously that couldn't be further from the truth.

He needs to step it up in the 3rd period. Hasn't made an impact in the last three games.

Once Ennis is back , might make the choice of who to lose a little easier . Ennis is a different player than Kane . Which do you go with ? Tough decisions .

Ennis hasn't been relative and half way decent since 2014..
So what I'm saying is I think all we're missing is maturation time, one top 4 dman and a coach with a 21st century strategy. I do believe Lehner is fine as a 1st string though I'm super high on Petersen. He's a better college talent than Miller was

I still think he has something left to offer. Speed, and stick handling are always needed, and from what I remember he was responsible defensively. I think he can regain some of his scoring touch. I would still rather have Kane.
One of my favorite memories of Ennis is of him rocking Gorges

Haven't followed peterson but have heard good things . I agree on posso. other than the offside play tonight he has been absent. Now I understand teams have bad games . But you usually see a turnaround . Team seems too young atm Not in age but as being together.
