Sure is, and there were many that were pathetic.
The Bruins games were rife with them.
I wish they were all called, and I say that knowing full well it likely means they lose even more than they are now with their incomplete roster. - kingcong39
Tampa wants Bishop to play the puck, so they held up our forwards all night on the dump ins. If the refs have any concept of how the game of hockey is played, they should understand Tampa is circumventing rules for advantage. They just let them game the system. I don't get it |

Easy fix. Goalies can no longer put 2 hands on the stick (they don't 99% of the time as it is). If they do, they get called for an illegal stick (just the same as if a forward picked up a goalie stick and tried to use it). Ta da. Goalies can whack it anywhere they'd like using their stick in one hand like they do to make saves. They can even come out to play it, but as soon as that second hand goes on it's 2 minutes. |

I would love to see this rule change. I thought of it years ago when the goalies playing pucks was a problem. they dreamt up the stupid slanted lines back then. just don't let them use the stick like a forward because, duh, they're not forwards. nor do they use a forward style stick. I really think this would increase offense without changing the game that much, and the rules are already on the books. just include goalies in the "illegal stick" infraction. a goalie never uses 2 hands on the stick to make a save. |

or, how about a bone crushing check on him every time he handles the puck....if all teams did that...hmmm, might see less of it and more fighting when it does occur...win/win.
but this game is for wussies now |

The Kane high-stick penalty was sweet justice for the Kane spearing on Bishop that went uncalled.
The penalty that gave us the 2-man adv in the 1st was garbage |

I have no problem with goalies playing the puck. I wish the goalie could play the puck outside the trapezoid, BUT anywhere outside the trapezoid, he is considered a skater and can be hit, stick checked etc
And for the love of god just call interference |

I feel like Bishop was all worked up all night long. I don't usually think of him as that type of goalie. He also definitely put himself on the watch list for diving.
Also, how is it high sticking if a goalie is on his knees? Even if he did hit Bishop in the face while Bishop is on his knees, the stick isn't high, the head is low |

It makes sense, but they'll never let a goalie get hit. take his stick away.

What (and i guess when too) would it take for you to consider the sabres buyers at the deadline?
What would it take for you to consider them sellers?
(i.e record, underlying numbers, number of teams ahead etc.) |

You mean after Bishop tried to butt end Kane in the face when he was coming behind the net?

Easy.
This team has way too many passengers and players who are well past their prime pulling down significant $'s. Furthermore, TDL deals typically command high prices...which this team can't and shouldn't afford/spend.
Therefore, in my mind they should be Sellers no matter the scenario. Dump those guys and get what you can. Backfill with Rochester for the remainder of the season.
Now, if we could land One of the Ducks young LHD's for reasonable....Pull the trigger. |

Gionta's gotta be gone. Some people say bring him back at 2 mil per, but i think we have to do better.
44, 77, 6, 4, 26, 28, 12. Switch all these guys out for new blood. It would be hard to do worse |

Why does he have to be gone?
He's been a pretty consistent player all year. He isn't going to light it up but he is fine on the 3rd line. |

Oh yeah I saw it, I am not excusing Kane at all but Bishop did give him the old how do you do with the butt end (its a subtle move that goalies do) The Kane "spear" was stupid but it wasn't this aggressive spear. Dumb yes |

I'm not saying they need to bring Gionta back, but I think he gets a lot of hate for actually being pretty productive for us. He's 6th on the team in scoring.
My issue with him right now, is that he shouldn't be on Eichel's wing. But in the role he was playing before with Larsson and Foligno, I had no issue with him being on the team. |

3rd line winger, tied for 5th in points on the team.
I don't get the Gionta hate anymore. Sure, when Bylsma had him on the 1st line it was ridiculous, but that's not the case this season. He's playing in a perfect spot. |

Consistent yes, but not nearly good enough He's brutal on the power play and is potentially keeping Nylander, Baptiste, Bailey or another off the roster and power play. under .5 pts per without being a PK or PP specialist is simply not worth retaining |
