One week ago we talked about staying the course with a tweak or 2 at TDL if possible and maybe small tweaks in off-season. Since then it has been trade the 2 expiring contracts, the 2 best players we have to expose, Sbisa and Granlund, and back to trading Tanev again.
Man this fan will be happy if Benning can pull off 1 trade between now and off-season. |

Not the superior athlete who plays 5-6mins in a 2.5hr game.
Thats too exhausting for any athlete 😂😂 |

I do know what Tanev brings, as well I know what every other Canuck brings. This team stinks and should not have untouchables other than Bo and Tryamkin at this point - VANTEL

It would be crazy to trade Tanev now Wait until the draft unless Edler waives |

Trade either for the right deal.
I'd still force Edler into waiving as my 1st choice.
Tanev only if a huge deal |

Yes no one is untouchable. No fire sales needed either. Trades for value are hard to come by in the new NHL let alone a Vegas year. Drafts take years to show impact. Those things are needed but the here and now is what can be fixed right away. |

I really hope they draft Hague this year. Big, mean , PP specialist fast good shot. I don't know how many times I have seen we need a franchise Dman . A skilled forward can be drafted any year.
Then also you can trade Tanev for a top 6 - VANTEL
OJ looks like he can be a Duncan Keith type franchise dman |

you do realize the canucks are way better with tanev in the lineup, hes not old in fact hes just entering his prime. - Bettmanhatesus
By the time we are ready to compete he will be at the tail end of his prime. |

correct - SMBDragon
Actually, I would like some proof that Jarvis has anything at all to do with the defense, I will not at this point say he doesn't, but as of now I think this is all just conjecture, in the video Carol posted today, it is Lidster giving advice.
Now I know you have a massive hate for both Lidster and Desjardins, but that's not what I'm inquiring about, what I would like to know is...is there anything published or announced that Jarvis is the defensive coach on this team? |

I am a big Tanev fan, but he may bring us the most value back. He checks off a lot of boxes for teams that are looking for a top 4 Defense. Right handed young enough good contract.. Several teams like Mtl, TB, Leafs, Senators, Flyers, Bruins would all be looking to get him. All of these teams also have some decent young assets we could expect in return. |

I didn't see that at all. I see a big lanky kid with good skills that looks smart and plays positional well. I think his shot is okay. He does a lot of things well but nothing stands out. |

The dichotomy of todays NHL...
Top 2D always in demand
Scoring RHD the same
Top 2C again the same
What happens? Nothing unless top talent for top talent. Rare
Come the playoff drives the talk of getting top 4D is constant
20 Goal scoring is always a commodity at anytime
Now that RFA's r locked up early for the longterm only a few old UFA's r maybe available for rentals or offseason overpayment.
GM's once again r the reason of the stagnant trade market.
Cap mangement forced upon them & now we r where we r.
More talk is about contracts fitting under the cap & asset management.
All it amounts to is less trades of significance nearly all year long.
Whats left is us posters playing armchair GM's while the paint dries |
