I didn't see that at all. I see a big lanky kid with good skills that looks smart and plays positional well. I think his shot is okay. He does a lot of things well but nothing stands out. - VANTEL
Hopefully when he gets here Nikita can teach him how to eat. |

Yes, but you just don't see it. - A_SteamingLombardi
Yes, yes you are correct, which is why I'm looking for clarification. Jarvis has been credited with the fortunes of the defense and Desjardins has been vilified, after seeing Lidster in the video with the defense, I'm confused..who's who in the zoo....oh and just because it is stated here means SFA, but I am open to being educated by credited sources.

Actually, I would like some proof that Jarvis has anything at all to do with the defense, I will not at this point say he doesn't, but as of now I think this is all just conjecture, in the video Carol posted today, it is Lidster giving advice.
Now I know you have a massive hate for both Lidster and Desjardins, but that's not what I'm inquiring about, what I would like to know is...is there anything published or announced that Jarvis is the defensive coach on this team? - Makita
JB himself in a TV interview said he (jarvis) came and made wholesale changes to the team in a few areas namely defense. He said he spend time with the players so that they understood and that he did a real great job.
proof enough? I mentioned this before btw
but to further back that up. Lidster did NOTHING with the defense for 2 straight seasons. Suddenly jarvis comes in with his history of running the D on good teams. Wow omg our D is suddenly drastically changed once he gets here while the usual guy had done nothing for 2 years. Im surprised you even question it when you look at the facts. |

I am a big Tanev fan, but he may bring us the most value back. He checks off a lot of boxes for teams that are looking for a top 4 Defense. Right handed young enough good contract.. Several teams like Mtl, TB, Leafs, Senators, Flyers, Bruins would all be looking to get him. All of these teams also have some decent young assets we could expect in return. - Reubenkincade
I like our D but think anyone of them except Tryamkin is expendable. One should be traded .
People keep throwing the name Landeskog out but he has been declining in productivity for the last two years. He is somewhere close to Svens numbers.
If you could swing a deal with the Ducks or another team like Tanev or Edler Sven and Hansen for Rackell and Fowler and salary dump Stoner |

OJ looks like he can be a Duncan Keith type franchise dman - Retinalz
Would be sweet. No complaints if he tracks more as a Holdstrom type either.
Probably swinging for the fences here but do you think Stecher might fit more in the mold of Keith? Well a lighter version of course |

He can still get stronger, but his skills, hockey IQ, and positional play are all top notch. Keith isn't the best scorer, good for 40-50pts a year generally. I see OJ becoming that, though having him and Hague in our top 2 pairings could give us the best top 4 in the league someday. |

I really hope they draft Hague this year. Big, mean , PP specialist fast good shot. I don't know how many times I have seen we need a franchise Dman . A skilled forward can be drafted any year.
Then also you can trade Tanev for a top 6 - VANTEL
He only just started to climb in the draft rankings. Looks good but I'm not so sure he's a top 2 in the NHL at this point.
If you want someone to charge the offense from the back end... Liljegren is definitely the D to take in the draft. His game is a lot like Karlsson's, but not projected as elite. Hague would be a good pick up in the middle 10. I don't know if I'd take Hague higher than 9 or 10 though. If Liljegren slips out of the top 5, he's a steal.

I am not interested in Landeskog either. Tanev does have Ntc/nmc that kicks in July 1 so it would be easier to move him, plus we have Gudbranson to take his spot and Tryamkin is improving daily. Yup we.can afford to move a defenseman barely but we do need help up front whether it be top prospe to or.good young players I am fine with that. Also want Jake up as we end some physical contact out there. |

Jake needs to stay down the rest of the season. Every report i hear about him from here shows that his game is improving. No point bringing him up so he can sit in the box while Megna and Skille get played instead because they "work hard, yet still manage to suck" |

Jake staying down til next season is fine. He is playing on a bad team down there so I don't know how that will be for development, but if he isn't hitting and playing his role.he needs to stay as long as it takes. |

To further back what up? All you do is make claims,,, and then reference your own claims over and over as fact and backing it up. You are a really bad bullsh!tter.
So having a more durable healthier D has nothing to do with the improvements? Adding depth? Adding skill? Adding size? The reality of a young D that is naturally going to improve season to season has nothing to do with it? Having two defensive aware vets in Sutter and Eriksson in the line up this season? It just Jarvis.... except for when the D fails, then it's WD and Lidster...
You know, when you talk about training, rehab, conditioning, diet etc, it's easy to see you know what you are talking about. It's just as easy to see when you have no idea what you are talking about... or are just stubbornly defending your BS.

Another year after this one would help him as well, he should stay until he's ready....if ever. |

He will be fine. I think he bottoms out as a 3rd liner. Not what you want from a 6OA, but that often happens to power forward types that get rushed by management. |

When he's ready should be the only factor outside of an emergency.
If you asked me late last season after the WJC, I would have said he's ready. Then he came out of the summer like a disinterested kid.
If he looks good in camp. Try again.
