Don't play games,,, you question my intelligence and make your "learn to read" comment, and then deny what you are implying. That is right on par with how you post. Say something, deny it, quote something you made up on the spot, call people stupid for challenging it.... rinse repeat. - boonerbuck
no I said "I know you know how to read". Look at it, thats what I said. I also never questioned your intelligence either.... you need to re read the post. Wow youre making some ridiculous claims here. |

Jarvis was brought in for as the special teams coach. The PK was already good. The PP sucked. Today, PK is good, PP is still terribad... What changed under Jarvis?
Lidster is our D coach. Our D has improved.
WD was brought in to develop young players. Young players are coming along nicely for the most part.
So much for Dragon's big case about Jarvis being the reason for improvements and WD and Lidster being the goat for all the failures.

I guess JB himself was wrong then about him and his role. You better go inform him then. |

Yeah... I was stupid for saying we could get rid of Edler and replace him with a couple guys at half the cost ...and still play just as well. Along comes Tryamkin and stretcher, out goes Edler to injury. And guess what, two guys making less then half of Edlers salary combined, did the job and got us through. Only downside is we still have the human pilon Edler. You laughed and called me names all last year over this...and now I've been proved right....who's stupid now draggy - Bullfrog77
didn't the Nucks lose like 10 games when Edler was out, then he returned and they won 7 straight?
Edler and Tanev get sh&t on so much by this fanbase - every game, they'll make 7 great plays then 1 mistake and thats all anybody focusses on the next day. |

Aren't the Canucks like 10-3-3 when Tanev and Edler both play? |

no I already put in the effort to post detailed info in the 1st place and it was met with garbage from some other posters so I said I wouldnt make that effort again. He knows that because I told him before, so thats why he's trying to heckle me on it, just to be an A-hole. He's the 1 who wants it, its there already, so go find it. The truth is he doesnt really want the info he just wants to heckle me, its an excuse |

I heard something like that the other day but I can't find proof. Its no doubt that they make the collective D unit better when they're in the lineup. Defence is by far the hardest position to play and overlooking the number of great plays compared to the number of mistakes our D make every night seems to be a common thread from the HB posters.
Watch an Ottawa/LA/Tampa game and you'll quickly realize that Karlsson, Doughty, Hedman all make mistakes nightly. It happens to the best of the best so to expect perfection each night from Tanev and Edler is insane. They're not as easily replaceable as many posters here seem to think. It blows mind each day reading through these threads how "throw away" they're made out to be.... |

Thanks for finally admitting it
But in all seriousness this makes no sense. First off your comparing ELC to long term player. These players were also complete surprises and definitely not the norm. We have still been better with Edler than without. Next year Tryamkin will be bridged for 2.5-3 and the year after same for Stetcher. Within 2-4 years we will see a lot of D moves as we have some talented young D and won't be able to afford it all. - Retinalz
If you weren't part of those discussions last year then sure I guess this won't make sense. But those who were....well point proven |

I have something to propose, does anybody think that Gaunce/Chaput experiment should come to an end? I mean I get they're fourth line/shutdown guys but can't we experiment with two different guys that can do the same things and possibly score more than 1 goal in 73 games combined? Thats f&*king horrendous.
I think Grenier has earned the chance to get a real shot in the second half of the season. And why not try out this Boucher kid? or Rodin(assuming his knee is ok)?
Keep in mind I believe you gotta give them 25+ games to really know what you got |

It's true. We have only lost one regulation game since both Edler and Tanev are on the healthy roster at the same time. Coincidently, it was when we lost both last season that we tail spun hard.
Right now, it's hard to female dog about Edler. He can be frustrating when he is off his game but his mistakes are much fewer lately. Seems to be a theme for much of our D.
This years turn over machines are both out of the line up at the moment. Things are not a total fire drill on the ice lately.... big coincidence. Time to trade some D.

actually it wasnt about the edler thing. I didnt have an opinion about edler other than he would improve with a new D system in place. ANd guess what? It was correct wasnt it?
Ive also talked for 2 years about tryamkin coming in a being a stud here, also correct.
bullfrog I said you were stupid twice, not all last year. I said it because you wouldnt leave me alone with attacks in which you said the same. You wanted to act like that I gave it back. You provoked it now you whine about it. |

I would like to see Megna sit for sure.
I think Skille has been pretty good as of late.
I think Chaput provides more grit than almost anyone on the team right now.
I think Gaunce plays lazy. Is it just me or does he seem like he doesn't give it 100% EVER. He always seems to be in the mix on the forecheck and backcheck but he just seems to be going at 75% all the time (might just be me).
I would be sitting Megna and Gaunce for Rodin and Boucher.

I thought it was pretty funny to hear that Willie had Horvat taking the draws for the 4th line and then hop off to have Gaunce replace him. Shows how much WD likes our 4th line centers in Chaput and Gaunce taking draws lol. |

Not that I really want to get into this, but maybe your stuff needs updating then? Lots happens in 2 years.
For example, just posted in the summer:
“Jarvis was added to Claude Julien’s Bruins staff in 2010 as an assistant coach. He had a history of running some successful power plays with the Montreal Canadiens and in 2014 started sharing that responsibility in Boston with Joe Sacco.
“Boston’s man-advantage unit has had some mixed results in the past six years, but finished in the top ten last season.

Or
Jarvis, who dominated faceoffs as a checking centre during the Montreal Canadiens’ dynasty in the 1970s, said he’ll be able to share what he knows with Canuck centres.
He is equally adept at coaching a power play or penalty kill, has more playoff experience than anyone in the Canuck organization and a good record working with young players.

Sounds (and looks, based on that tweet from a few days ago) a lot like he is the new voice of the powerplay, which everyone is female doging about being awful. |
