Haha...yes...I just think youre near the time in the rebuild when you can start to add free agent support staff like we did a couple years back with Sekeras. Guys than can be part of the short and mid term solution, and still serviceable in a longer term .

Some of the kids that might make the roster next year will be players that have already tasted the NHL. Give the ones who rise to the top in next years training camp bottom 6 duty. i think our GM has 5 or 6 in mind that will have to compete for spots. It will be interesting to see what he does about our 4th line C position next year. Thats where i would want a younger, defensively responsible vet.

We seem to have something to build on . Just have to keep at it and add the right players . Not all the sparkle will be available and not worth losing anymore farm team talent. So far we haven't lost any star power. Still too early to judge. But we loss a lot of quantity over the past 2yrs in terms of possibles.

Brendan Guhle is a guy people keep penciling into the top 4, but he still would be a 20 year old rookie 2nd rounder.

I agree they need a different coach but the Pegulas have to be very careful here if they do fire him. That will be 4 head coaches under the Pegula watch in 6 years. They are also on their 4 head football coach in 2 and a half years (Counting Lynn of course).

I can't imagine a scenario outside a huge win streak that the Sabres are buyers. Too many teams to catch
