Paid handsomely, yes. But Subban is being paid the same $72m over 8 years, instead of 13, thats another 6 year deal on the table where he could have definitely added another 20m+ to his bank account - WhiteLie
Fair enough, although Subban signed his deal five years after Keith, it's a bit of apples and oranges because the market was different, the cap was different and their ages were a lot different. |

If you disagree with someone's opinion you call it bullpoop. Why don't you quit being such a self-righteous knob.
Relax, smoke a joint, it just might kill the bug you have up your ass. - bloatedmosquito
Two days in a row you try this "opinion" joke on me. Two days in a row it wasn't about opinion. Two days in a row you didn't read back before cracking off at me...
Maybe you have a bug up your ass? |

Just wanted to say Carol you're doing an incredible job at this. I used to jump around between different writers to get my canucks news. Now I just look at your blog and I'm done for the day. You cover all bases so well and very quickly too.
Keep it up! - teknikal

He's been pulling this crap for years. Picks a target and doesn't let up regardless of what that person says. It's childish, unconstructive, and boring.
I’m calling him out on it from now on. - bloatedmosquito
Oh, yeah, I haven't let up on Bullfrog??? Really now,,, you mean that whole few minutes I posted about it??? What ever drama queen...
Two days in a row you get in my face and I don't see anything about hockey in it. Just you targeting me... give it a rest hypocrite.
And once again you dig into the past. I'm sure in a post or two you will accuse me of bringing up te past....

Just a lot of childish drivel back and forth the other day, and a lot of days if we're being honest. Today is hockey talk, I enjoy that, I'm old and don't have a lot of patience I guess. |

Oh totally different market, I think though that had he signed a 4-6 year deal at that time, he would have got higher than his $5.5 cap hit, then wouldve struck big again in the past few seasons.
Hindsight is what it is. Montreal bridged Subban and lost that gamble, Chicago won the Keith deal handily |

It is hard to cheer to lose, even if it means us getting a better pick. I think the draft lottery has taken some of the lustre off losing.
As the club keeps saying the goal is to make the playoffs, I hope we make it and if we just miss, I hope JB comes through with another solid first round pick. - hillbillydeluxe
To be fair, we really don't know what his drafting prowess is. Virtanen is not looking so good at this point and we'll have to wait and see how Olli Juolevi turns out. Jared McCann hasn't impressed too much so far. Brock Boeser looks like a keeper though.
He seems to do better in the later rounds: Demko (2nd), Tryamkin (3rd). Now if he could only learn to keep those draft picks. |

Yes Chicago got a great player for a reduced cap hit but Keith got three Stanley Cups because he stretched out his salary over a lot of years. I think they both won. It allowed the Hawks to sign and keep a core together to continually compete for a Cup.
A win-win situation.
At the end of the day, I probably stand corrected, you're right, he did leave some money on the table, but his three rings, a Conn Smythe Trophy and a couple Norris Trophies ease his pain. |

I'm the idiot? Sedins aren't off the books this summer we got a whole other season dishing out 14 mil. Miller s deal is up...but is likely to be resigned as per Trevor linden s interview a month or so ago. There 20 of your 30 mil still sitting right there. Sbisa is likely done and Burrows probably as well. Chapoo Megna and Skille could all be resigned as well. So considering Bo will get a 4 mil plus raise and Guddy is likely close to 4 mil raise....that's most of your freed cap space gone on two people. Sure maybe Sedin money comes after next summer. But it's more likely the team resigns them to play again...because we still won't have anyone to replace them. I will keep up the good posting....you on the other hand, really need to up your game - Bullfrog77
Didn't say or imply you are an idiot. You are mistaken.
I said "over the next *two* summers" so I don't know how you are trying to flip those two things back at me... |

I Like how tree has come along ...but let's not get carried away ... - Redmile247
he's important to the shutdown.
in the game against the flames he went off ice for about 4 minutes. Both goals were scored in that time and he settled it down w stingy D the rest of the way. Shows how much he adds. |

Regardless of where you think Tree will end up in the lineup he should be untouchable at this point as we would never get anything substantial for him and he has big potential - NorthNuck

Just seeing if you were around. I know you are an avid back reader so I knew it wouldn't be missed.
I'm still calling you out when you start accusing people of having agendas when they are just firing out thoughts or trying to drive conversation.

so true.
But Vancouver has a strange complex about wanting to be liked. I think when basketball players started to reject Vancouver it started an emotional trend that affects this market to this day. Bertuzzi and Luongo contract negotiations stand out for me as a tragic series of events. - bloatedmosquito
Horvat's leadership will change the complexity of how we are 'liked'...not that most of us care what non-Nuck fans think anyways.
Once the Sedins-Burrows are gone the image and complexity of this club will change dramatically. We have already seen it change for the better getting rid of the locker room cancers in Loowingo and Kesler. It's happening... |

OK, like your agenda for example? One where you just step in, presume to know what's being discussed without reading the thread, pick a side, and then start pointing the finger based on my past? "Nothing personal" you say?

Do you think Lu and Kes were cancers? I think they became cancers when the team started to lose direction. Must have been frustrating as hell to be so close and then start to see it all fall apart just a few seasons later.
Sure Lu and Kes could have handled the situation better but canuck management also (frank)ed things up good.
I think getting rid of Bieksa had a bigger effect on the locker room than Lu or Kes.
I'm worried about the twins getting extended...

I don't think either were cancers, although LU became a distraction because of them publicly trying to trade him. |
