Punching out a team mate in public for being a wiener is leadership? That is Bieksa's ego all the way... - boonerbuck
No it's not if it's in the best interest for the team. Willie Mitchell did the same when Kesler was getting out of hand. It makes team mates accountable. It makes a statement than individualism will not be tolerated on any level. Team first.
It also takes a huge responsibility off the coaching staff if players police themselves.
The fact that you see it as selfishness is ludicrous.

I think Bieksa was the true "heart" of this team for years. Especially during the AV years. He was the voice for the team and at times even challenge the coaching staff and some players privately or publicly to make his opinion known.
Didn't he punch out Fedor for being a wiener? That's leadership. Take that out of the room... the room changes. - bloatedmosquito
I wasnt sure if you meant positively or negatively.
Ya I remember him knocking out federov but that was in a bar while on the farm team in manitoba, it wasnt with the canucks. THats when burke signed him on the spot.
Miss him TBH |

It was $15 US, which is pretty much $20. Damn it was good.
You always pay more at airports and arenas. I remember paying $10 US for a can of bud at MSG new year's eve 1998. |

What? Bieksa left him knocked out on the pavement in front of the bar they were drinking at. When did Mitchell do that to a team mate? How does that make anyone accountable? How is that individualism countered? How is that TEAM FIRST? That's Bieksa first.
Damn right I see it as selfishness. Go ahead. Criticize me for it.

Bieksa probably stayed around too long but he did have a presence on the team.
Was it the calgary game where he scated to the faceoff circle to tell the flame player to cool down? Can't remember the centres at the time but the canuck centre was not a fighter. Protecting his guys as I see it. |

That is truly upsetting My parents neighbors place in NV is a borderline tear down and it sold for $3.2 million a few months ago - CanuckDon
The funny thing is you can probably take $50K off that price because it will sit on the market for over a year. You should see what $1million gets you.

prices have gotten retarded. The coffee shop across from my clinic has sandwiches for $11+tax. Meanwhile 2 doors down is subs for $5. Certainly protesting the $11+ sandwiches.
Odd thing is the sandwich place is busier than the sub place |

Id imagine the commercial space lease at those locations would be staggeringly high. |

I'm barely surprised anymore by the price of stuff made with mostly bread. Up here, unless you buy a loaf of no name styrofoam bread, you are paying $5 a loaf.
Everytime gas drops .15, they raise the price on everything when it rebounds. No adjustment for the drop ever. The products on the shelves have had the price adjusted on that .15 probably forty times over the last 5 years.
