Thank you Carol!!!
Megna over Rodin/Boucher at this point is a utter joke. - Codes1087
He's not coming out at all. Megna is golden now. WD said forget Boucher. If Rodin is ready in his eyes he only sees him fitting on the fourth line. Barring injury to a top 9 you know where this is going. |

If I were JB....
Let Edler know he will not be protected.
The impetus to accept being traded.
Stars Habs Av's Hawks TBL Pens all potential suitors to name a few.
Protect Tanev EG Sbisa & solve expansion draft D protection.
Go after Alzner as a UFA.
Plan B trade Tanev by the TDL or offseason which ever fetches top value.
Juulsen/2 comes to mind but tough to pull off prolly.
The AV's for a big deal for Duchesne would be nice.
That would help pushing down the Sedins prime playing time.
Again go after Alzner as a UFA. If no success all good.
As for 7 forwards its either Hansen for a high prospect or keep him.
Finding a way to keep both Sven & Granlund won't be easy.
Possible back room deal with LV may be needed.
Exposing Hansen might have to happen.
If he were to fetch a 2nd idk if that player is worthy.
He is not worth a 1st but a 2nd is not much in my mind.
2-2nds from the Habs would be the ultimate lol - Nighthawk
This is something Vantel would do but don't expect Benning to do this

Benning does seem incapable of logic. I forsee the majority of us scratching our heads and calling for his by the end of the draft. |

I foresee the TDL being where the biggest deals will be made.
The entry draft will be pretty much uneventful.
The prospect pool is not the deepest IMO.
Offseason trades prolly tweakings only as in boring lol
UFA pool is thin as hell as well. - Nighthawk
Agree prospect pool is not so deep in this entry draft. No super stars plus round four and beyond weak per JB. But entry draft and off season has been more eventful over TDL because teams have more flexibility with cap on time and space.
That aside it's the Vegas factor. More teams reluctant to do anything more then rentals by TDL. After losses from Vegas expansion teams will be looking to fill holes. Plus Vegas will have 7 extra players it will want to move for picks or prospects.
Also, with close play off races there will be few clear Sellers. The hockey deal need type will be more complicated to make at TDL. Like if you send a D for a forward. That could add to protect list exposing another needed asset.
I'd say because UFA pool is thin it would spark more trades to fill in team needs. |

The 10% cap overage in the offseason is a dangerous ploy.
With so many RFA's signed etc & teams up against the cap along with the basement cap teams & lousy UFA's list i'd say this offseason will be less eventful.

Benning said he won't go to a player & ask he waive his NMC/NTC.
He also never said he would not force it in other ways.
Hanging an expansion team over a players head can be very motivating lol
Time for shrewdness & ruthfulness in the months leading up to next season. |

Because he is unlikely to do any deals to weaken the team at the TDL, good possibility he protects Hansen instead of Granlund, and probably doesn't trade one of Edler/Tanev. |

With the lead up to the TDL & expansion draft & UFA season & entry draft it will offer up plenty for everyone to chat about. Could define many teams fate & GM's & coaches will be further under the gun. It will be fun fun |

How does that makes the off-season less eventful then TDL? Plus how does that effect all the other factors mentioned that will jostle movement? |

That is a good possibility.
Tanev i mention only due to his value to fetch needs.
He stays unless we get a great offer.
Betting man would say he stays.
Edler is our next chip...
$5m is one motivator along with some teams r willing to go all in for a cup run.
Teams seeking top 4 would consider Edler & the demand would be high IMO.
Prospects/picks would be the currency if he were moved to a contender.
Playoff bubble teams r harder to figure for many reasons.
Ownerships pressure for making the PO's comes to mind mostly.
Underachieving teams i see needing to shake it up a bit to get untracked.
Hansen is a tough one. We need him & his contract is awesome
Losing Granlund or Sven is a big hit. A real connundrum on forwards.

I want Edler to go probably more than most but you can't let him walk for free.
He adds stability as the young guys grow. I don't like him but I know the team is better with him |

My fixation/fascination moving Edler is it signifies a dramatic roster change.
Any deal that would happen would bring a significant piece IMO.
High prospect most likely but from who is what i cannot wait to hope for.
Now a Tanev trade would be really rock this forum on who/what came our way. |

Classic drama queen - CanuckDon
Questionng someone who says JB lacks logic is not drama.
Back it up better.
It says BS on gettng into someones head yes.
A blatant silly post presuming JB does not use logic.
Unless u r playing at being Sigmund Freud of course 😜😂 |

I too believe that moving Edler would represent a sign that this team is going to be going through real change. Like Vantel said we are better with him in lineup. Next season we have a healthy Gudbranson and a more experienced Tryamkin to more than make up for.losing Edler.
Too bad it won't happen.(ntc)Tanev maybe.
