Here's an idea - the a-holes from the other cities are always going to bad mouth your team. Why join them if you hate that they do it? - Der Kaiser
Toronto fans are A holes as are Phili and Boston fans for the most part. Rangers fans are just cocky but really know nothing about hockey so I don't even consider them to be worthy of anger. |

I can't not root for them. But I can be sick of doing it. I'm in an iron clad life time contract with both teams and I get that but man.... It's just ridiculous that both have been so bad for so long.. It gets me worked up because I enjoy watching them both. I'm a competitive guy and I like to see my city do well and hate seeing A-holes from other cities bad mouth us all the time. I would just like to not be the kid who gets his lunch money taken from him every day and doesn't d a thing about it you know? - bluengold12
I understand what you're saying, but why get that worked up when there's not a goddamn thing you personally can do about it? Unless you're really Warren Buffet or Carlos Slim or some Saudi Price multibillionaire.
And I'm probably a bit too competitive myself; I can't play games with friends. I get way too into it, but in this case it all comes around to the first part of my post. There's nothing I can do about these teams, so I look ahead and with the Bills, I see nothing, but with the Sabres I see something special. It's probably just going to take more time than we all thought. |

We traded a 3rd rounder for Bylsma.
Everywhere you look in this organization there is bad value. Just a pile of currency lit on fire. - sbroads24
Holy Cow!!! I forgot we actually paid for this bum. My God, Murray has flushed assets down the drain. |

Sabres get that game to 3-1 on the PP and they win going away. Man, they worked it so Eichel was lined up in his spot with ROR skating to the middle, backhand saucer to Eichel and he wasn't even looking to shoot his shot. Instead he decided to see how many times he could pass it back and fourth to ROR before the puck hit a skate and exited the zone like that stupid effin video Garth or someone posted of them practicing. They want to be cute, then they get what they deserve.
And how bout a little sense of urgency when tied or down a goal instead of waiting til the goalie gets pulled? Bylsma can be the scapegoat, but I don't see how he can be the culprit for their lack of effort in board battles or horrendous effin passing.
What happened to Ennis? What did I miss? Had to listen to the game at work yesterday and missed the first period tonight? - Hatboro_Swords
Held Ennis out for Precautionary reasons, probably just couldn't go again tonight right after yesterday's game.
I wasn't really watching that closely, but were ROR's passes actually accurate? Because they haven't been lately and by the time Eichel can get it to a shooting position the lane has closed and he's been forced to pass it off.

Nobody is in front anymore, that's one problem of many in the offense right now. Everything starts with a flip dump. From go, we surrender possession. If we send one guy in, we lose the chase and turn around the other way. If we send two guys in, they regain the puck but center to a slot where our only remaining forward (just arriving from being third man high) is outnumbered 3 to 1. We lose the puck there.
End result: the design of our offense produces no possession, no structured attack, lost pucks in the corners, or lost pucks in the slot.
But our players all suck. All of them. Because corsibputs it on them.
What is the fancy stat to measure coaching?
A telling quote: Babcock doesn't tell his guys to be cautious, he tells them to be responsible. He reaffirms what they do well. He allows players to grow by allowing them to succeed. Anderson sucked in the first period. Babcock trusted him to figure it out. Lehner choked one goal. Bylsma pulls him. Episode ensues. Team goes into doubt, distraction, discomfort.
What is the winning system, and who is to blame? We lost again by ONE meaningful GOAL. When will this team stop being so fragile, and who is responsible for the fragility? - Der Kaiser
That's the $64,000 question, but I think there's enough blame to go around. Including a "here we go again" aspect to it. That's why intentionally losing for too long is a bad thing. They get used to it and accept it. It's incredibly hard to pull out of it.
I don't know if it's just because Eichel isn't totally healthy, but he hasn't been carrying the puck very much at all this year so far. Like you said they just flip it in and lose it, but when Eichel is at his best he's carrying the puck in and setting up, or just shooting it. But more likely he just sucks. |

Yea thats the thing. not bad just isnt acceptable when your cap hit is north of 5 mil.
A lot of overanalyzing with this team. Its a hard cap league, if you want an answer for why you've spent close to the cap and yet have a bottom 5 team, its obviously because you've got a few guys being paid way too much for what they bring. - Sabresfan-365
Here's an eye-popping number. 25 teams are within $5M of the cap. Projected cap space according to capfriendly. And the Sabres only rank 19th in terms of projected cap space.
Some crazy how the Rangers are lower than us even with Rick Nash and Lundqvist. |

Nothing like walking into work on Monday morning after a typical Sunday in say November. Couldn't wait for this game tonight. Especially after yesterday. Maybe the Leafs had a bad game tonight, but they didn't look like anything special to me. Matthews had one good chance, but to his credit, wired it. Eichel had a great chance and decided to pass across the crease. Reinhart guilty too for falling asleep on that play. |

They're 21st. They do also have 9 guys making $1.1M or less too though.

It was all set up. Eichel scored the exact same goal a few games ago. The last game we thought they were turning the corner game maybe. |

Fedun is ok. Falk is a typical 7-8.

This loss tears the team apart.
I predict locker room in open revolt, everyone soon begins pointing fingers if it isn't already happening. |

We do have the dead cap space from the buy outs of Ville Leno, Ehrhoff and maybe one or two more. |

I keep hearing the complaint that we are crippled by being so close to the cap with all our bad value contracts.
Tell me why that has harmed us. What move have we been prevented from making by lack of cap space? With all the cap hit coming off this year, who will we not be able to get.
PS remember We're still carrying Cody McCormick rather than putting him on LTIR. |

I think the team played pretty good, considering that they played last night! But Danny boy might not be the best coach for this team? Leafs weren't impressive wasn't their best game for sure, but no way the Sabres should be in the standings where theyare, so I say the coach goes imho! |

There will be plenty of room. All the others coming off make those numbers unimportant. |
