That was not my question. You're in college. You should understand that if a question is asked, you don't get to write whatever you want on the page that has nothing to do with the question. And if you do, you get an F. So, in summation, here is your grade...

they are doing better than us right now, which should get pegula's attention
but they are nothing special and if we win tonight, they are 3 points up on us and we know how the leafs do in the second half of the season
it's a good story for a minute, but that minute could end real quick - homiedclown
Man, you just refuse to give the Leafs any credit at all, huh? I can't say I blame you. The Leafs haven't exactly torn up the league over the past several years
But I don't think you can judge them based on history anymore. They've never, in team history, made a commitment to tear down and rebuild like this. As such, they've never had this level of talent on the ice and in the pipeline before
Also - Leafs have only played 41 games. If you make a reasonable adjustment for games played, they are sitting comfortably in 6th place in the East
They currently have two games in hand on Buffalo. So that 5-point gap is more like 7 or 8, realistically

No, because hindsight that makes Murray look bad is forbidden. Hindsight that makes him look good is acceptable. - sbroads24
If he hadn't made any of those trades, you mean to tell me that during last season you wouldn't have complained about how awful we were for the 3rd year in a row?
I'm sorry, but this fan base was already tearing each other limb from limb after the first two 30th place finishes. Can't imagine what last year would have been like had they bottomed out a 3rd year in a row.
MSG is all about the Rangers/Knicks. SNY is all about the Jets. There's YES which is the Yankees channel. Sabres/Bills have some time on MSG right now but not much. ESPN couldn't be bothered with hockey in general and the Bills get talked about each year due to losing 4 super bowls and the drought but that's about it. - Zschalberg

Nope. Not one bit. That's what I expected when the rebuild started, a slow process with a ton of young high end talent.
What I did not expect was to spend a ton of cap space, trade out a ton of picks, bring in 80% of a new blue line, almost a whole new forward core, all within 3 years, and still be a bottom 10 team.
I don't think we will be bad forever, I think picking Eichel and getting ROR will prevent that, but we all "suffered" so we could eventually watch a team that contends for years.
