Okposo doesn't hurt us now. But at what point do we ever get to say- Wow, what a bargain, we aren't that good this year? Oh well, maybe Vanek can net us a 1st or a nice prospect.
When is someone going to come in and exceed expectations? - sbroads24

1. Patrick Mahomes — Quarterback — Texas Tech
Rising all the way from number three to number one, Patrick Mahomes appears to be the hot prospect out there right now. Depending on the direction of the Buffalo Bills offense next season, the team may or may not move on from Tyrod Taylor. That said, the team still needs a long term replacement.
While some may be pushing for Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson — someone I feel is a second or third round pick — a player I really adore is Patrick Mahomes. A gunslinger in every sense of the word, Mahomes would bring a new perspective to the Buffalo Bills offense.
Using the run game to help in Mahomes development, adding the former Red Raider would open deep play avenues not seen under Tyrod. If a passing game is the way towards the playoffs, Mahomes is the guy needed in Buffalo. |

Jeepers, is that really what you Sabres fans do?
You guys are embarrassing.
Here in Leafs Nation, we run a guy out of town, watch him produce, lament that he's no longer with the team, and then blame others for running him out of town, swearing that we knew all along he was a superstar...
Wash, rinse, repeat. - Atomic Wedgie
Hey Wedgie - If you're referring to Kessel, that's you you're talking about. The rest of Leafs fans are glad he's gone, and happy for him fitting into the right role in Pittsburgh. |

Did his lackadaisical style piss me off some nights? Yes. But on the whole, he was the player on the Sabres who I most thought "he has the puck...he is probably going to score."
And we havn't had that until Eichel showed up. I wanted to sign him this offseason, tell him to just sit on Eichel's wing, and snipe. |

No. They would need to shore up the D before looking for a high priced scoring winger. Despite the success so far this season, this Leafs team still has a ways to go before they can think about moving draft picks for that last piece to put them over the edge.
The 1st they got from Pitt was flipped for Freddie Andersen, and that blah prospect is still only 20 years old and an AHL all star. |

I don't take it as a slight - I can't understand how you are missing the point.
As we sit, the franchise must manage the contracts - the deals are done and on our books. So the question isn't whether we could have done better at the time, the question is how is it hurting us now, and can we prevent it from hurting us in the future.
If we presume an owner that is committed to spending up to the cap, the Bogo money is only hurting us if it has already prevented us from signing a better player. I can't identify an instance of that occuring - if you can please let me know.
In the future, the Bogo money will only hurt us if the prevents us from signing another player - and I say that proper cap management will permit us to skirt that possibility in other ways.
The upshot of all my observations in this regard is that the contract may not have great "value" to use your word - but that it doesn't hurt the teams record or standings in the league until it prevents the team from signing better talent (and to repeat, I don't think it has done so). - Der Kaiser
Okay now i understand what you were trying to stay that took me a minute
