maybe ... let's give JB a few more drafts and have the twins gone and we will see where they are then ....right now I just see some of the Canucks important future pieces not on the team yet ....
- Redmile247

Pretty dumb statement . Twins are eating up 14 mil of front line scoring cap. Like me saying lets take away Guadreau and Monanhan.

You are so sure Canucks will fail without the twins and yet they are not contributing that much right now. Unlike you I am sure we will have some answers for the transition. If they don't then they would probably be extended.

With the twins diminishing play its not like Monahan & Bennett r lightng the league on fire. 2 r retiring soon with big cap hits the other 2 yet to lead a team from the Bubbleverse. Stalemate at present so we can look forward to our next wave.

Trying to compare two teams two years from now is nuts. Trades, draft, injuries, Free Agents lots can happen

Well if that first goal would have counted and that lucky bounce off Hank didn't happen it would be a lot different right?

Haven't checked tonight because I only had two players again

I get it he is loyal but its also a standard cliche.
Providing him with wingers seems a constant problem.
They lost UFA's & signed no help.
In goal they r weak.
D looks good.
Lots of work to do to make him stay once next contract talk begins.
I don't see much changing on the Island with history as my defense.

- Nighthawk

They can dump contracts and trade away 1st and prospects, they will probably either go all in this off season, or rebuild and trade him away for futures.

Cuz 21/22 year olds are comparable to 36/37 year olds ?

I'm not so sure they will fail ...but I wonder how things will be without them ...

Sounds all fine but where r all these trades?
These days trading at anytime has dried up.
Dumping contracts is difficult.
Gong all in not happening from the UFA pool.
They were net losers last time around.

Right now both r bubble teams.
No signs of that changing yet.
The future will be the acid test & its yet to come.

Core should be the players your 100% loyal too. 3f2d1g. Everyone else are great pieces but tradeable when cap is needed.
- Retinalz

still I like those 5 for the D. Lets see how hutton and stetcher do over a longer period. As much as I like Stecher Lets see how he looks by end of our season.

With the cap that's really the only time trades can happen ...not much during the season

Dude you compared a 26 yr old to a 36 year old before. What happens if Gudreau gets a knee injury and is gone for 6 months. How can you know what will happen in two years

3 of significance only come to mind...
Hall for Larsson
PK for Weber
EG for McCann/2nd

1st was offense star for needed D out of necessity. Heavy price.
2nd was star for star & seemingly about a personalty conflict.
3rd says what the market for top 4D costs & prolly why it happens infrequently

According to Friedman he wants to remain an Islander for life, but wants them to support him on a run for the cup, won't be a lifer in his prime if they are going to rebuild. That said they will have futures for sale this off season, we should look to them.
- Retinalz

I've posted my info on this before. The Isle will try to pull off big deals selling future and draft picks now to make JT sign. They need his star cache and rebuilding again is not wanted by ownership or fans.

If Isle don't or can't they have no choice but to trade him this summer. He's not making it to UFA. They know only off season trade is doable.

So, Canucks can either shed vets/youngish players to get Isle prospects or picks. Otherwise if Isle trade him it will have to be for either star players or developed prospects and rising stars. Your Bo type. So don't see any scenario where JT gets to the Canucks.

Brent Burns with his 19th goal tonight, guy has 46 points in 45 games as a defenceman, he's crazy good, Eastern media has no idea.
