That goal called back last night was really weird, intent to blow the whistle? Like he thought about blowing it but forgot how it works?? "no no no, in my mind I blew it..." that could possibly be the dumbest rule in all of hockey
Imagine if that call was against us? The Bettmanhatesus dude would've lost his mind!! - Brooks_Light
That play should have been blown dead the moment Miller covered the puck with his blocker. NHL knows that. |

This is the guy I want...kid has looked outstanding. - LordHumungous
Seen him play a few times, draft position doesn't concern me as much now. We're still not a playoff team though. |

That wasn't the expectation. You are twisting things. The story is bringing in a mature but still young Euro developed player who can make an offensive impact. That was the hope after MVP season. To harp on that he would or could not bring anything is kind of crazy.
Nobody new about the birth defect on knee. So don't get all superior about it. A partial tendon cut shouldn't take more then a year. They over played him in pre-season. Result was rest and rehab. He gets back is declared ready after AHL stint and now this set back. That's why you got to feel for him.
Rodin was on a high development wise to come and prove it in the NHL. Like Panarin was and did. Not saying he's the same talent. No one knows until shown. Only similar arc of story if he didn't have the recovery issue. So we can put the book on him away for now. The fragile jokes will follow too. We'll see if there is another chapter to this story next season or not. - Nuck4U
I am not saying you in particular were projecting that or thinking that, I am just saying in general. Vancouver media labelled Tryamkin as Chara 2.0 before he even played a game... It is just the standard in for the Vancouver fanbase.

Have seen him play quite a bit. Last year he was amazing in the games I saw. Haven't seen as much this year but he definitely stands out. - canucksfan1944
Are you talking about Foote? |

Yeah there is a lot of hype. Guess it's part of the desperate need for new hope in bleak times. But whatever projections are made prior to playing the opposite is done when playing. Unlike the Toronto media that over blows up a Laff's value the media and fans usually rake a guy when the honeymoon is over on expectations or hope. We can only observe if Tree keeps trending up. So far he's showing signs. With physical and offensive play. No one has a ceiling on him per say just an admiration he can bring a lot more. |

Interesting NHL CS Mid Term Rankings out today. The top 14 players
8 Centers
4 Defence
2 Right Wing
It looks like it will be a C or D so far for us.

This is only NA, so doesn't take into account Euro. But this definitely looks like a good draft to find our 2C behind Bo(or possible upgrade) or even another solid D for the future. With all the centers int he draft, some defense may slip. |

I endorse the Nashville approach of ADD (always draft defense).
Trade for 1C's and wingers as needed with your bountiful stock of blue chip Dmen.

Tryamkin - Retinalz
now people are finally seeing why I was raving about him 2 years ago after his play at the world juniors.
He has all the tools to be a pronger-esq #1 D man superstar. That play video in the blog reminded me of Lindstrom in his decision making and then the breakout pass. But then he got speed and went straight to the net spraying the goalie with snow as the puck was about to be centered, another great part of the play that didnt get mentioned.
It would be incredibly stupid to ever lose this guy |

C'mon man
let's let him score a goal, make some big plays, do something worthy of this kinda praise before we label him a #1D or a superstar. |

No, he's our Lidstrom/Pronger/Chara/Robinson/Orr hybrid. - golfingsince
Well, he's no Sopel. |

You got to feel for the guy. He's had some hard luck. Instead of a Panarin type story he's the but of injury and coaching jokes. Now this birth defect knee issue to rehab may end his career. So let's just hope it works for him under Canucks medical care and he has a chance to prove himself next season. - Nuck4U
Is he going to resign with the Canucks or go back to Europe ? |

So far Ive been right about him havent I. Give it some time and we'll see if Im right long term.
I said he had the TOOLS to be not he was yet. You gotta admit he has done well and has serious potential.
It also is probably the best Defensive play of the season end to end. |

He's yet to prove what he is it's real early. But I won't put a ceiling on him either.
Remember all the people harping to send him back to the KHL because he didn't want to go to Utica. Well it was mass injuries to our D that forced WD's hand and he got played and proved he belongs. Worked for Stecher too. Otherwise he would be an afterthought there like some others.
Getting noticed and opportunity are a fine line. The earning part is always skewed you know. Like Cherry has said any coach can make a player look bad. It's that rare time of desperate need that they give the rope to sink or swim. |

He has played well, no doubt.
But i refuse to put those lofty titles on a guy that's played 50 NHL games.
Yes, he has potential, but i haven't seen anything to indicate he's Pronger-esque or a #1D, or a potential superstar.
He looks like a great pick, solid #4D.
And that's awesome.
As for the play, it was good, not spectacular.
I suspect he was given that kind of space and time because the opposition was used to him making the safe play and dumping the puck up the boards and he surprised them.
I would not expect him to turn into a Karlson and begin regularly rushing the puck up ice like that. |

its also cool to him be such a great team mate, always aiding injured players. Apparently he's very well liked by the team. |

to his defense (no pun intended) there is a condition that usually comes on doing something like grabbing a pencil or piece of paper. It is common in hockey.
Like when dustin penner had back spasms while at IHOP eating pancakes and missed time |

Yes he's got some great attributes that will help. Like I said there is no ceiling right now but he's got a lot to prove. You can be excited about him in the mean time. |

Doesn't he have a goal this year? Or did it get awarded somewhere else?
EDIT 016-2017 gp36 g1 a4 pt5
See already has a goal this season. |
