This 99.99% probably won't happen but something to think about.
Canucks have to protect 3 of the 4 Dmen . The proposal I would think about to AVS
They want a young Dman and a young Goalie. I like Gudbrandson a lot but I am not sure how much interest Avs have in Tanev
Gudbrandson Hansen and Markstrom ( young goalie currently our backup) for Duchene . Sign Miller two years 5 mil per.
I am still going for Kane who now has 12 goals and no bad headlines. JV Subban and CBL second
Draft a Dman and use Markstroms money to get a back up
Kane Duchene Eriksson
Sven Bo Boeser
Sedin Sedin Sutter ??
Granlund ?? Dorsett
Edler Stecher
Sbisa Tanev
Hutton Tryamkin
Miller
??

I have my opinions on both ends of the spectrum on why teams have success or lack of it. I'm no guru but whichever side i take whether devils advocate or not i try to be honest in my assessments. - Nighthawk

Overheard on a Sabres thread...
Enjoy your laughs - Aetherial
I think we have all soured on kane. Plus we need Stetcher specifially because he is a PMD, more than we need a guy like Kane. If we are moving a D it is likely Tanev for a big haul or Hutton. |

Fill in the rest....
Trouba/Enstrom/Roslovic for Tanev/?/?
RHD for RHD
Roslovic for our future 2C
Domino effects...
Sbisa left unprotected or trade bait for pick/prospect expose Enstrom
Buyout Enstrom or flip him for almost anything
Then onto maybe Hansen also moved to fully prep for expansion.
Force Gaunce to be taken idk
Maybe a poor trade example for the domino effect to start but something similar is what i'm trying to explore - Nighthawk
Your suggesting any of the 3 for tanev or all 3 ??

I would be onboard with something like this, I would also look at Miller for MAF and a 3rd(Pitts needs to protect Murray, so they will have to trade MAF at negative value to do it, else Murray is in LV)
EDIT: The emergence of Tryamkin has also shown that he could replace with Guddy brings, though i still like Guddy. |

Id be cool with Foote, depending on where we pick. We have lots of Dmen but lack any with top pairing potential a few years from now other than Tanev. OJ is not looking that great at this point, maybe just tired from a long season last year. Even so we lack a true offensive game changing Dman like a doughty, hedman, karlsson etc.
Im hoping for a Center or a true offensive Dman in the 1st round. After that id like all forwards unless something really seems to be a steal. - mauryballstein
OJ is on pace for more points than last season inspite of not having talents like Marner to feed the puck to... London and team Finnland both are not as deep as last year. |

Outside of the box ideas r interesting debates. |

Stetcher has already proven he is better than a #6, gifted offensively and not a liability defensively. Like all young players he makes mistakes, but the consistency will come in his game. I think he tops out as a Barrie style #2/3, bottoms out as a #4/5 PMD. - Retinalz
I must watch the game differently than you, as I see Stecher being baled out regularly. Not trying to knock him as players like him are needed, just don't think they are top 4 types. ( I would not want Barrie on my team). |

Names might not be exact but Canucks should be looking for some type of movement. It is better than letting players walk for free |

I think your wrong about Stetcher, kid is pretty good defensively and real good offensively. Hutton I think becomes a tradeable asset soon. I don't think Neil is anything special, didn't he fail to make the Comets this year? He maybe tops out as a 5/6(maybe) OJ and Brisbois both look good though. - Retinalz
Neil's numbers are great this season... then you realize he's a 20 year old playing in Quebec junior.

Still to early to make that claim.
When he's in the midst of his sophomore slump, we will be singing a different tune. |

Miller signed for 2yrs would ensue & thats cool
Sign a backup is easy enough

Fergy caught him with arm extended instead of braced so why it had any effect. Try that again and see what happens. |

Marky would be easier to move and have a bigger return. Look as Markstrom as a stop gap anyways. |

Some people look at Gudrandson as a good young Dman. In this thread he gets his fair share of abuse but in the media he doesn't , in fact some have said the reason Gallant got fired beause he asked ownership if they were crazy for trading EG.
When Willie Mitchell asks if they are nuts, I take his opinion a little more valued than yours ( sorry) |
