He was a dumpster fire this year

Gerb's u become a very negative young man! You are to young.......

I'm not a Nelson fan at all, TM has to step up for this organization and get some top 4 D and a goalie soon!

I think we both are feeling the frustration with this club, we have been around to long?

Shake up is needed:
Coach
Trade
Call up Nylander (tired of Moulsen, Delor, and other dead weight on this club).

Nylander/Eichel/Reinhart

82 has had a decent year, but has been a liability in our zone!

Its possible they think everything's okay and it was just injuries...even though the results haven't really been all that different with a healthy lineup.

Yes, it's been frustrating Irish but it is what is. I didn't think they were a playoff team this year so it take this season for what it is. I've lived with every Sabres season since day 1 and I can tell ya there were other years (78, 80, 84, 06, 07) that were way more frustrating imo. Those teams should have made the finals.

TM needs to get this club a Top 3/4 D man yesterday.....use Kane and get it done. This will help the Lockeroom also

I think it starts with the deadline, then the expansion draft and of course the coaching situation that I think will be addressed when the season is over. A few more layers to go through to build this team.

I actually would like to see Kane stay for a while but understand he has more value now with his recent production. If we can get value in return, great. I just don't see him moved at the deadline. I think guys like Franson, Kulikov and maybe Girgs will probably go.

Agree on those players being dealt at deadline, maybe even 82 & 12

I think TM moves Kane soon, value is high! Never know what a weekend can bring from 9! Sell

I think Foligno doesn't get moved, not sure about Gio though.

I am hoping Kane and Gio are traded. Gio at deadline for a prospect...Kane before then for a young D. Flyers and Ducks as potential partners.

Then, next year I think...
Ennis - ROR - Okposo
Nylander - Eichel - Bailey
Baptiste - Reinhart - ?
Foligno - Larson - Girgensons
Dlo

(Kane acquisition) - Risto
McCabe - Bogo
Guhle - Gorges
Fedun

I like that a lot. I would try to add a FA forward for experience and keep Bailey as the extra forward. DLO I would just let walk

I was on another Sabres message board the other day and a poster from Sweden shared bullet points of an interview with Anders Forsberg, Sabres head of European scouting.

-Forsberg is in charge of drafted and undrafted players in Europe. He continues to follow drafted ones in case of trade proposals and ranks players from 1-7.

-Forsberg was a scout for Ottawa and was responsible for drafting Erik Karlsson. Murray trusts Forsberg and they traded up to get Karlsson.

-Forsberg thinks ahl not suited for Nylander, best is NHL. His strength holds him back for NHL.

-Asplund could play 3 more years in Sweden, best place for him to develop. No reason to come to NA if not ready for significant time.

-Forsberg was behind idea of drafting Lehner, really likes him and experiment here is far from over, has barely touched his potential.

-He wanted to draft OEL in 2008, got Ottawa GM to come to Sweden to watch him, had his worst game and didn't draft him.

-Forsberg loves working with Murray, very straight forward, rare to see this in Sweden.

-Ullmark was scouted by Forsberg. Ullmark said it's because of Forsberg so many Sabre players drafted from Sweden.

-At draft very stressful time for Forsberg. In 7th round Forsberg found a talent in Russia, Vasili Glotov. Convinced Murray to draft him.

I know this post is a bit long, thought I would share.

Agree with you on most of the above. Although i like Kane as a player, particularly lately, I think we need to trade him now to help solidify our porous and depleted defence. He should be able to get us a Top 3 D-man.

Regarding the above line-up, it would have potential to get us 90 - 95 points assuming our goalies play as well as this year and we don't get nailed by the injury bug like this year. Our NHL player depth beyond what you presented above is meager at this time. Also, i assume in the above scenario that Murray enticed Vegas to take Moulson in the expansion draft because otherwise, there is a $5 million 4th liner missing on your line up.

Lastly, hopefully one of Bogo/Gorges is gone and there is a replacement there too. Highly unlikely both would be gone.

Jake is doing great SW, thanks for asking. Glad you enjoyed that post, very interesting stuff. I also wonder although I didn't ask him if Forsberg had any influence on Murray trading for Nilsson. My guess is that Forsberg ihas been scouting Liljegren, Kostin, Vesalainen, Pettersson and Heiskanen.

Nylander isn't ready for the NHL, he's barely staying afloat in the AHL. Took is brother 2 full years to make it, and it'll be similar for him.

Hate bylsma. It's no coincidence matthews is thriving in a good system while Eichel has been great, but is clearly frustrated with this antiquated system. Look at our dmen's point totals. Bylsma must fine them, or something, if they get a point. I know Risto is close to 30 points but that's because he plays 55 minutes a game (I know it's 30). Didnt bylsma learn about risto's swoon last year due to excessive PT?

GMTM: I like him more than most but what I don't like is how bad Rochester is? Isn't this supposed to be a pipeline for the NHL?

Ion, I'm not so sure Kane gets moved before the expansion draft. If he's moved, the team acquiring him has to protect him. I could see him moved at the draft but I'm not sold on the idea that he's traded prior. Gio could be moved but only for a pick.

This trade deadline will be different because of the expansion draft. Moving rentals makes sense for the sellers like Buffalo.

I think the way Franson has played this year we could see a 2nd in return or if we added a pick we could get a decent prospect back. Jokipakka in Calgary comes to mind. He could also go to a team like St. Louis, who might need D depth depending on what they do with Shattenkirk.

Deal- Franson and 2018 4th rd pick for Jyrkki Jokipakka. Or to St. Louis for 2017 2nd rd pick.

Kulikov could be really help a team like Pittsburgh or LA to add depth for the playoff run. LA has an interesting expansion draft situation as Doughty, Muzzin and Martinez will be protected and that exposes players like McNabb and Forbort.

Deal- Kulikov and a 2017 3rd rd pick (in deal for Mike Weber) for Forbort.
