Sutter leads the Canucks in ice time. That is why we are calling him a 1st line player.

It doesn't make any sense to call him a high end 3rd line center when he leads his team in icetime.

Horvat for example is 3rd in icetime among regular C's 4th if you include Granlund but is on pace to lead the canucks in points. That's what a high end 3rd line C looks like.

Look at his linemates not his ice time. That's pretty damn simplistic He is a horse on the PK and takes our defensive faceoffs

THIS.

and until Edmonton/ Toronto have success in the playoffs/ actually win something then I'll believe it. As it stands now, they are mostly only good because they got a really good years 1OA, sick of hearing about it like it took any sort of skill or management/ drafting skill.

Why is it always Toronto, ARZ, COL and EDM that come up as examples?

Seems to me Pittsburg, Chicago and L.A employed some of the very same tactics to great success.

Although I think this will now be taken as we traded for a 1st line C!

So you want Sutter and EG gone. Anybody else?

you know you don't have to look at 1 example and try to emulate that right? you can pick and choose different tactics and devise a coherent strategy right?

or should we still be trying for the "detroit model" or the "bruins model" or is it now the "penguins model."

So anybody that doesn't believe in a TO style tank is drinking koolaid? good to know I like the fact they are trying to grow the prospects in an environment with a few decent veterans around. But perhaps you are next inline for Bennings job if it doesn't work out.

No, anybody that thinks the current regime is doing great is drinking it. They've had plenty of missteps.

Because making a claim that suggests that there is a 'way' or an 'approach' to win a stanley cup is ridiculous.

there are a million moving parts including health, luck, matchups, reffing, etc.

There is no 1 way to win a cup.

Different teams, in different cities with different rosters take different approaches.

Oh the rebuild tactic definitely works, but its not the only way, plenty of teams have had success drafting in the middle.

I bring up TOR and EDM because that's where all the trash talk comes from it seems..... I can accept an PITT/CHI fan giving me the business because the teams/players have actually proven it.

the fact that you don't believe in a TO tank doesn't mean you drink the kool aid.

the fact that you defend every benning move incessantly shows your high BKA level (Blood Kool Aid Level - similar to alcohol).

drink any more kool aid and you're going to need KAA. "hi, my name's don and i can't stay away from the kool aid."

maybe some of us want to actually give JB time to do his job? Im not a huge fan of JB, but he's only just started to implement his plan, why dont we see if it works or fails before you constantly nitpick every move? We wont know until the Sedins are retired if it worked or not, simple as that. Become a leafs fans if you want a tank
