They're 8-1 in January! - Mungo
Yah no kidding, 6 straight wins.

The only thing that the playoffs will do for the Canucks is get the Sedins extended and then we'll be 4 years away from being 4 years away. - A_SteamingLombardi
As you have said many times it does not matter what we think.
If you listen to Bennings interviews he seems very happy with the progress. Crowds are coming back, The team is winning . Ownership is happy. Fans seem happy other than here.
When he came in he said he will make the team younger faster bigger, he changed out 14 players in 3 years. They may not be the players people here want but he did it,
This year he said the goal is to make the playoffs. They are close.
He said he will not ask players to waive , so I don't expect a big shakedown next month of moving assets.
I think you will see a trade next month and it will be Hutton . Burrows may go but the more I listen to JB the more I doubt it. I don't think he will be extended though. I think Boeser comes in next year.
I think anyone expecting another full set of changes is going to be screaming next month. |

I stand corrected.

Last year Burkie said before the draft there were three players that stood out and then it was a cliff , then there was another 6 players and another cliff.
This year doesn't have a Mathews Laine or Puljujarvi , so how does this years draft class look ? |

Hope this helps a bit. Considering top 4 last year would have probably been red. |

I hope (if we make the playoffs) we make it passed round one and boeser signs early and joins the team for playoffs. Would be a good indicator for next season what to expect, and playoffs are more intense aswell |

I think this is one of those years just make the playoffs and anything can happen.
I know with Tryamkin Gudbrandson and Sbisa the team won't be bullied |

Which Strome?
I have seen him play twice since he came back and really trying to figure out who he plays like. His shot is really similar to Daniel Sedin or Joe Thornton. No power but pretty good accuracy.
He skates well. Definitely not elite speed. Could use some work. Almost like Bo in his first season.
He can defend. Not shutdown center but no slouch.
Hockey sense is off the charts. His stick handling is exceptional.
His goal last night was.... Awesome.
Haven't seen him fight but he doesn't seem to back down from anyone and is always out there supporting his teammates.
If there was a player that i'd say he is close to IMO is Ryan Johansen. or a stick handling Joe Thornton.

If by the trade deadline Van is very much still in a playoff hunt literally in a spot or 2 points behind and playing good hockey.
Would you trade Hutton and a 1st this year (conditional that they make the playoffs) for an elite young forward?

I think with Patrick you will get a good player not a great player sand same with the top 10 . I seen 3 players I like that were listed 11-21 .
I guess that is why I am not on the tank wagon this year. I think you will get a good player even drafting 20 |

No I would be ok with trading Hutton and Hansen or someone on the roster but no. Keep the draft pick.
I don't think we are winning a cup so build for the future |

I would agree outside of Hischier, Patrick and Valdridi that you aren't getting a first line player. I think the two other Patrick will be good players but never elite game changers like getting JP and Marner at 4. There are a couple players that I wouldn't mind in that 11-21 range that could become very good 2nd and 3rd liners. Not really something you want out of top 20 pick. Prefer a top 6 legit forward but well some drafts just don't have that upper level of players. Next season if we tank and get 3 first round picks anywhere looks like you could certainly change a team around in a year. |

I know people on here don't like my choice but I want either Hague or Foote. Defense is what is winning for us and I think signing a young stud gives us an upgrade and allows us to make a bigger trade for a top forward |

Unless someone knocks JB socks off with a deal at the deadline, I wouldn't trade anyone until you know where you are drafting.
Boston is looking for a top 4 D. I would trade Hansen and Tanev and ask for Jeremy Lauzon, Peter Cehlarik and a 1st. |

Nobody likes my choice that this draft isn't as good as previous years. Hague and Foote are definitely good choice. Foote climbs in some boards and drops in others. The only knock I've seen on him from scouts is that he doesn't push the pace enough. |

I think Benning right now is collecting phone calls and seeing what deal he likes best.
I don't think they move Tanev |

That looks like the same Defence that calgary pushed around and we couldnt compete, we need Gudbranson in the lineup, also who slots in with Tanev if hutton was traded for a first? |

Absolutly, nobody expected La to win in 2012, or carolina in 2006. Good goal tending and lucky bounces can change a series. True about those 3 i would also like another tough forward for top 6/9 |
