Good read.
Bogo will get picked up by Vegas. Book it. They need the cap hit and a top 4 Dman and he did not transfer his NTC over from WPG. Murray will expose him.
Reinhart, or Reino (most definitely not Skunk.....is that a hockeybuzz thing??? ), is the type of player this team hasn't had in a very long time. Did anyone see those 2 backhand passes he made to Jack going into the slot against DET & MTL? I haven't seen this kid make a mistake for a long time. Well beyond his years.
GMTM should make a move for a LHD, and with Bailey & Baptiste both top 10 in AHL scoring at 21, I would move Nylander tomorrow. Carrier playing decent and hang onto Kane for another year. Package Nylander, Ullmark and a pick for a top LHD (Fowler?). Sign Petersen and Borgen for ROCH when their NCAA seasons end.
Anyways my 2 cents. Boys look good in 2017. The 2nd half jump is starting to become a trend. - teamvanek
He makes a lot of mistakes. All players do, it's the magnitude of the mistakes that makes the difference. Bogo doesn't make a lot more than a good defenseman, he just makes really boneheaded ones, like skating, under pressure, the puck right in front of his own net, twice in about 10 minutes. |

I'd be pleasantly surprised if he ever was a 40 point player.
He scored for the 1st time in like 5 or 6 games today in Rochester. Bailey is killing it there - sbroads24
He would need to get way more than 3rd line time to get to 40 points. Probably. It's only his first year in the league. |

Yeah, I'm not willing to write him off. That's just the style he seems to play. But again, he has virtually no NHL experience, so we'll see. |

Oh I'm not writing him off. I just don't see more than a 3rd or 4th line guy. |

I think facshing could be a force on 3-4th line, but would never call him anything but bottom 6 guy.
But Stanley cup contenders have strong bottom 6 players. |

Ok, 2-3 years from now, bottom 6, Fasching, Baptiste, Bailey, Asplund, Pu, Larsson?
Now I could do that.... |

Those are the Sabres best prospects. If they are all bottom 6 players, which they probably are, they are in trouble. |

Forgot Carrier. No, Nylander is best prospect.
Kane Oreilly Okoposo
Nylander Eichel Reinhart

Yes, forgot about Nylander.
Eichel has to be 1C. |

I guess this is assuming out first this year is a D.
This means trade Foligno, girgensons maybe Gionta for best you can get, maybe could get away with one of those bottom 6 guys, a few seconds rounders and one of Girgensons, Folingo for someone like a Duchehe (don't think that is enough since they want D) and that would allow Kane for a top 4 D.
I'm forgetting about Ennis? Expansion draft? |

Not really though, becuase Eichel and Reinhart are still of prospect age. So we really have 3 elite prospects. 2 or 3 good ones, and a bunch of mid tier ones, |

Hey! What'd ya know, Pats goin back to another bowl. Here you go Buffalo. You're gonna go to 4 Super Bowls in a row and lose them all. On top of that, we're going to rub it in by cock blocking you from the playoffs by putting the greatest effin Dynasty in the history of team sports in your division. That's what you call proper F'd |

That's not how it works though. Eichel and Reinhart aren't part of our prospect pool. They are full time NHL'ers for going on 2 years now. We are what we are with them.
We have 1 potential elite prospect in Nylander, and a bunch of guys who wouldn't sniff the top 50 if they were ranked. |

How is it at all different? Both goalies were acquired for a single first round pick.
Robin Lehner. 921 save percentage
MA Fleury. 904 save percentage.
People on this site talk about Lehner like he's got an. 898 - jcragcrumple
You're never gonna win this argument on this site. "Some" people here hate Lehner just like they hate Kane. It's just their DNA and NOTHING will change their mind. |

That's true to a point, but they will, overwhelmingly likely, be better players in 3 years. So it stands to reason that, everything else being equal, leads to a better team. Because we know that players reach their peak at about 24-25. Some a bit later, some a bit earlier, but the vast majority are 24-25 when they're at their peak. Unless you have Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin. And even Malkin, in his best season, his 22 year old season he had 113 points in 82 GP, but had he played all 82 in his 25 year old season, he only played 75 and wound up with 109 points for an 82 game average of 119. And as good as Jack may be I don't think he's Malkin good. But maybe Malkin isn't the best example because he played on the same team Crosby did, so I'm sure he got lots of favorable matchups.
To make a long story short. Eichel and Reinhart are very, very likely no where near their ceiling right now, so in that way, they are prospects who are still developing. |

I agree they are developing, but they are only getting better in their current positions. Which is our 1C, and #1 winger.
I wouldn't consider that a prospect. They aren't exactly going from the 4th line or AHL to 1st line over a few years. They are at the top of the lineup already |

Top of our lineup only because they are the best we have on the team. |

of all those players listed
only player that could thrive in the 4th line role IMO is Larsson and he is slow
best 4th line this team could ice IMO right now would be
foligno, cor, deslaurers |

So if Robin Lehner backstops the Sabres to top 10 numbers in the league in a few years and we become a contender down the road and he solidifies the position in Buffalo and Colin White is a 45 pt player in Ottawa, who wins the trade? - mhp
Buffalo would. However, the likelihood of that happening is about the same as Eichel outscoring McDavid for his career (barring injury). |
