I'd go BPA.

Last time we went for a big and skilled forward specifically.........JV.

JV

He's not a bust yet. But I think that doesn't happen with a top 3 pick. If there is a forward available take it. Start developing replacements for the twins. Bo and Brock are good starts but we need more.

Plus I need something to get excited about. I can't stand what I'm watching now. So little flash out there.

No matter what people think, we aren't a deep prospect pool. Therefore, I think the answer for the foreseeable future is BPA.
- golfingsince

I agree & if a toss up take D eg Foote or Makar

BPA always. Don't let ownership interfere with drafting... EVER....

You are right. Our prospect pool is average. What do we lack more? d or scoring? It's pretty simple

Keep it simple, draft the player who produces the most offense regardless of origin and size.

I don't think we are in a position to be selective based on position. Our back end is nothing to write home about.

Do you have someone in mind at the 10-20 range who it is ?

Juolevi will be with the Canucks sooner than 3 seasons. Kostin, Vesalainen, Peterrsoson, Andersson, Rasmussen? Should be plenty of solid forward prospects available when we draft. Lots of Swedes for you

Edit. Scoring goals is fun. Our team isn't fun. Let's draft somebody than can let us have fun

- CanuckDon

Rasmussen is from Surrey and would be a nice pick.

I don't agree with that either.

I hope Juolevi is NHL ready sooner than 3 seasons away.

Got to draft a forward with first pick. Centre for sure. Big and skilled.

I'd prefer that if the BPA was a toss up.

OJ may be closer if played with vets like Tanev or Guddy. My belief is Sbisa is odd man out for next season either by trade or Vegas pick

I understand the concept of BPA but this is still supposed to be entertaining. Young Dmen are only so exciting. Their position requires restraint.

During the rebuild I'm not so worried about losing games. I would rather lose games 7-6 instead of 4-1 with 18 shots for. The flash and dash is what makes major league sports worth watching.

Speaking of O.J, looks like he got bumped down the Knights depth chart once again with the acquisition of Vande Sompel

I think thats no problem.
JB is the scouting wizard & draftist.
Tallon a draftist & trader & contract man.
Covered pretty good for a superteam in mngt.

Ive always been in favor of the superteam concept.

Top need is a playmaking 200' top 2C.
Another great skating offensive D to QB the PP is good also. Decent size as well.
Never enough good D.

The 10-20 range (frank)ing sucks. I don't care who they take at that range because it will be left up to this team's development system to get the most out of that player... unless JB gets lucky and finds a player who everyone else missed. Not great odds of that happening though.

If you get a top 5 pick it gives you options. If it's a poor draft then you can trade it for a positional need or a later draft pick or two.

4 of the top 5 prospects are forwards. I think you got to look at them and see who fits your needs best and hope they develop quickly or at best step right into the NHL.
