My apologies to Canuck Don for being anal about BC born players but I look at lists like this every year and think how nice it would be to have 5 or 6 of these players. Currently we have 2, of which 1 is in minors.

I get what you are saying. Those distractions that you mentioned for JV can be anywhere. Look at Kane. It's about attitude and dedication. Family helps keep them boys grounded. SO local thing can work better. PLUS extra motivation to perform and play hard for team you cheered for and locals you know.

I agree with you there can be perils. The bad part is it can be a lot of pressure for those not ready for it. JV and WD didn't mix for this season either. JV wanted to show he belonged and be a fan favorite. That tripped him up when things didn't go his way. Plus JV did himself in by slipping in his consistency and or readiness. So he's a work in progress now to get another shot at it.

Looks like you rounded up on measurements. But he did trend up in goals. Maybe JB has an eye out if we land close. I would prefer a high upside shoot for it all center pick that can always play wing if need be.

Ya, I was reading some of that. It was good for a laugh. We need to fill several holes up front, currently we have 1 maybe 2 top6 in our current lineup post Sedin. Maybe Boeser and or Jake for top 9. Pretty thin.
