Isn't Landeskog a hardier player who would survive better in the Pacific? Either way we should be trading for Duchene not Landeskog
- NorthNuck

Duchesne is the dynamic we need...Landeskog is just a slightly heavier version of RNH.

I agree with everything except the bold. Patrick could step in next year as 3C and put up 40 points. Nico would be in our top 6 next year. Both these guys are studs.
- CanuckDon

Totally. Either of those two could stand to reform our top 6 as early as next year, injecting high skill while more importantly, dropping bubble guys (Sutter, Granlund, Megna, Chappoo etc) down the depth chart where they belong.

Christ, insert Hisch/Pat + Boeser and maybe Virtanen ((frank)er better get his act together) and the forward ranks look grood for the first time in years.

I do believe this team will blow-out in the coming months, mainly due to the quality of competition but unless we get some Winnipeg like luck in the lottery, i think we ultimately pick in the 7 to 10 range

Absolutely. Would be pretty decent I think there are 5 or 6 potential first line forwards in the top 10 so we should get a nice piece either way. The franchise has to get some luck one day right?

Even if Canucks lost every game for the rest of the year they probably still would not finish bottom 2

Why on Earth would TO want to make this trade?
- CanuckDon

They wouldn't

I doubt they trade kadri at all

JVR on the other hand is a possibility

I agree Don they would be nice upgrades but there is no way Benning or FA will let this team draft top 3 unless we win a lottery spot. . We are a 10 -20 team

What if the new goalie equipment rules make Miller look worse than Elliott ?

Flames play a terrible defensive structure, that's why Elliot doesn't compare to what you saw in St. Louis. It's a culture that took Hitch years to build there.

This is exactly why I say there is no need to tank.

You could just as easily get that unforeseen talent in the second round , or third round like Tryamkin as you could with the #6 pick.

- VANTEL

how can you say that it's as easy to pick high end talent in the third or second as it is if you pick top 10??!?!?!?!?

every statistical analysis of previous drafts has shown that the higher the pick, the more likely he is to succeed at the nhl level.

http://www.milehighhockey...5931789/draft-percentages

if your argument is that JB is such a good drafter that he can unearth gems later in each round, why wouldn't you want him to have the highest pick in each round and as many picks as possible?

Jets, coyotes, philly, Dallas, St.Louis, avs, Tampa have all allowed more goals

Add the hurricanes for the bolts and they all have a worse save percentage

LOL OH DEAR!!!

right before you stated that you can get LUCKY, you said that the team doesn't need to tank b/c they can "JUST AS EASILY" find that top end talent in the 2nd or 3rd round that you can find in the top 10.

canucks rebuild: hope to get lucky.

Last year the blues were the best team save percentage wise ...this year dead last ...what is different there ?

Flames give up the 7th fewest shots ...almost the same as the blues

Also the 7th fewest shot attempts
