I have a sincere question. Did anyone actually say this?
Because I think the mantra from a few of us was "Injuries shouldn't mean we are last in the conference"
If anyone really sincerely thought Eichel's injury did not matter, than that's crazy - sbroads24
Don't want to backread for quotes, but yeah I think the injuries were downplayed considerably. No one may have said that they didn't matter at all per say, but "team sucks and getting healthy won't change anything" has been an early season mantra adopted by some.

Well, then, according to this logic, the 1st overall pick is also garbage because Yak is on the verge of being a bust. - sskkoo1
Yeah but noboby said the 21st pick is garbage.
The argument over the 21st pick is not that it has no value. The argument is that the 21st pick is risky, and because of that risk, the value of the 21st pick is probably not as high as the value of a known NHL starter.

very cool...you going to this?
The Buffalo Sabres Road Crew, presented by Delta Air Lines, will make its first “Tour Stop” of the 2016-17 season on Jan. 23 in Nashville, Tennessee prior to the team’s game against the Predators on Jan. 24.
This Tour Stop will take place on the second floor at Tin Roof Broadway (316 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37201) on Monday, Jan. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 each, with all proceeds benefiting the Buffalo Sabres Foundation.
I went to the one in Columbus two years ago and hung with Ted Nolan and Brian Trottier, amongst others, for brief moments and it was way cool - Michael Pachla
Sabres Road Crew will be delayed until tomorrow morning.
