I went to the one in Columbus two years ago and hung with Ted Nolan and Brian Trottier, amongst others, for brief moments and it was way cool - Michael Pachla
I'm pretty sure the Barclays Center only seats the 15,795 that it shows for opening night. - HonkFortheGoose
Yeah, I noticed that (didn't look it up bit figured that number after seeing it on opening day and shortly after).
Was attendance really that bad before? I know it's more than just attendance, I think they got other perks in the deal, but man....between low capacity and hearing that there are so many bad seats...what a mess.

Well, they were stuck in a bad situation either way.
I was in the old arena just under 5 years ago. It was a dump. There were times during that season that they had to move people from their seats because the roof was leaking. I'm fairly certain they never even replaced the seats in there at all. It was seriously a pit. I believe it also only held a little over 17,000, so it's not like they went from 19,000 to 15,000 either.
