I think he played the right side a majority of his time in Russia
- Crazybagoham

yep.

but I think there is less time in the NHL to make plays. often has to take the puck on the back hand and move it to the forehand... but wtf do I know? the dead horse needs another beating and I'm looking forward to any sort of trade.

I read the other day that in Russia they teach you to play the off wing . It is common practice

I'm with you, I get bored and wanna see a trade!

I agree, it's definitely a trend to have your stick facing the boards for defencemen, but I think it's just personal preference, like I think a lot of d men are comfortable taking more passes on their backhand (like while holding pucks in the defensiv zone), I can see why some guys would be uncomfortable playing the other side though.

was wondering if it is easier to play the body on the off wing? just love the idea of Tryamkin laying out the hits.

I thought it was a cogent and consistent appreciation of the nuances that certain players descend to. Or not.

hmm, I dont think there's a huge difference, I dont seem to notice any regularity to Tryamkins hits, other than he loves standing on the blueline/boards and just crushing a guy into them. The biggest flaw I see in Tryamkins game personally, is that he seems a little hesitant to hit and use his size (and rightly so) and is afraid to hurt other players/take bad penalties ( he seems verrrry picky about his own defensive game), which is a really good problem to have.

Anyways... other than Hutton, Tramps and Gudbranson... all are available.

I love Tanev and would hate to see him go but he has high value.

Edler..... never been a fan. He is serviceable, but nothing to build around.

Speeeeza... highly overrated. Doing well right now but who knows next week.

Stetcher... ???? I am not yet convinced he is the real deal but I would not trade him for anything small.

Monahan is young and already having back issues, not worth the gamble

Because Tanev never has issues?! No way Calgary should do that.

was wondering if with the posture, left shoulder lower- low hand on the stick if it just easier to make the hit with the right shoulder?

anyway, I agree about Tryamkin picky about his checks, even one of his light checks could hurt a smaller player.

Tryamkin seems like a very good guy, would hate to see him go. have to wonder about the trade return tho if he was moved.

To me just for the shooting alone would make sense to play on the off wing. They would be a couple of feet closer to the net.

I have heard some North Americans say it was hard to adapt but I think in Russia they grow up starting off on the off wing. I know there are a lot of Russian stars like OV Teresenko Radulov that play the off wing .

I think everyone wants Subban to be "a Subban". I just mean that he is the only prosect that the media wants more than the team. He has his own publicity department at TSN.

poor Bo

when Tryamkin winds up, everyone in front of him must feel like a hitter facing Randy Johnson.

Part of me wants Subban to get a game just so the masses will witness how badly he gets shredded...it would be a massacre

I was thinking the same thing, just to be able to put that 250 pounds over a 1 timer makes it worth leaving him on the right side
