Different positions and different skill-sets.
Brisebois for instance, is so highly regarded by this fanbase yet has been so underwhelming it's unreal.
Subban put more points in the AHL as rookie then Brisebois did as a draft plus one player in the Q lol.
Both look to be bottom pair guys, at-least Subban has demonstrated a knack for putting it in the opposing team's net. - Whiskey-Tango
It's not all about points...he is 6'3, skates very well and is sound defensively. It's pretty impressive that he was the youngest captain in the Q. He was then traded to a stacked team and was immediately made captain. Not to mention he was the last cut for team Canada. I suppose both coaches and the team Canada brass are idiots |

Yup, the sad thing is Don knows this too..... he's either the most willfully obstinate person I have interacted with on here.......or really good at pushing my buttons - belcherbd

I like some of their writers, others not so much. I do think their quality of writing or at least coming up with original content has decreased but really it shouldn't be surprising considering most of their successful writers have been hired by NHL teams or other broadcasters.
As far as Subban being rated as 4th best, I haven't read the article yet but I don't see why he shouldn't be highly rated. I think everyone, including likely the CA crew, know he is a long shot but he does do some things at a very elite level.
If you look objectively at how well he has produced offense at the AHL level he is very similar to players like Deangelo who has been able to come in a produce in the NHL. - belcherbd
I see him as 7 or 8 but don't have a problem with his ranking because the ones I like more are unproven like Brisebois Lockwood Gaudette |

You really think Tanev will get a return of Gallgher, a 1st and more..
I'll be flying home on Friday, first thing I'm doing is rummaging through the closet for my canucks rose coloured glasses... - Makita
I said maybe more, but definitely more than Gallagher by himself, and yes I would say that it would need to be a 1st to pry Tanev away from us, or we likely have better deals from other teams. |

The Habs won't trade Gallagher, he's their heart and soul up front. |

Just like the Canucks and all of B.C. ?
I know just as many people who are non Canucks fans living in B.C. Than Canucks fans living in B.C.
I still think the Canucks should market themselves as B.C.'s team much like the BJ's with canadas team - Redmile247
Did you know there was 17 023 Flame fans in the world .That is the total number . Seven of them are regular posters on HB.

That entire paragraph is almost verbatim a Jim Benning prospect report via 1040.
Points, specifically in an attempt to make the NHL is paramount among junior players but ok, let's go through your points.
Subban is undeniably the better skater, better transition mover and point producer so-far at all levels.
Defense:
Both Subban and Brisebois played on terrible junior teams, Bellville and Acadie respectively. Both tended to be deployed on the second paring, both saw significant power-play time. Brisebois was deployed on the P.K where-as it was a rare sight for J.S.
Subban, 253 OHL games, finished with a career minus -24
Brisebois, 213 QMJHL games, currently boasts a career minus -63.
If i was a betting man, I'd wager Subban's odds of being an NHL'er are alot higher then Brise but hey, it's all about those leadership intangibles eh? |

1) I don't listen to 1040 and I don't know what Benning says about Bris
2) I don't agree
3) Plus minus?
4) I am a betting man and I wager Brisbois has a higher likelihood at a career. Time will tell
5) One prospect has solid NHL size and one is tiny. You can't ignore Subban's size issues as well as his defensive short comings |

The thing with Subban is where does he fit in? There are six regular spots and two press box spots.
This team already has a fairly young D and some prospects that will probably push Subban out the door.

Yeah I do ...I don't think he will live up to the jay feaster label
But all he really has to be is a 3rd line center and most will be pleased |
