Not Patches, or Galchenyuk, or Shaw? - Retinalz
Galchenyuk is a kid, Patches is soft, Shaw is an idiot.
If you watch the Habs, Gallagher is their spark plug. |

So has Galchenyuk, he just came back. Patches was an odd choice for a captain. |

No, the point is more along the lines that being a captain in no way shape or form correlates to skill-level.
But then again, apparently Brisebois is a better skater then Subban
- Whiskey-Tango
So you dispute the fact that coaches generally make their strongest players captain? You think that the coach made a 17 year captain not due to his skill but more because of intangibles? Have you ever played hockey? Was your captain usually a strong player? |

Not an excuse ...just sayin ...it's not like they are being dominated by other teams ...just no finish and not getting a save ...pretty much the opposite of a month ago ...it happens throughout a season

Yes i do, as would half the NHL, unless you are willing to tell me that:
Gionta
Foligno
Derek (frank)ing Mackenzie
Koivu
Fischer
Greene
are the best, 'strongest', player's on their respective teams.
Or alternatively, that:
Landeskog and McDavid are the most experienced,
Or additionally that,
Getzlaf and Ovechkin are the most qualified and unselfish leaders on their team.
Being a team captain in today's league is a total poop-show that generally isn't correlated to a single thing. For some its skill, for others its marketing, for a few its personality, work ethic, leading through example etc etc etc.
All that to say, the fact that Brisebois has "captained a few junior teams bla bla, team Canada rejection whine, whine" has absolutely nothing to do with absolutely anything. He is/was not even the strongest player on either of those two junior teams for Christ sake! |

Got it .
Canucks lose 4-2 with 78 seconds left and they suck.
Flames get outscored 13-3 over three games and it's a bad stretch

The play in both games was not one sided ...the score yes ...to me a blowout is being outshot like 40-20 losing 5-1 ...this isn't what has been happening |

I didn't say the captain is the best player I used the words one of the strongest. I.e. They wouldn't select a rookie 4th liner or bottom pairing D man to be captain. You are coming across as a dilusional wining poster as per usual. Let's drop it now as in losing brain cells engaging with you. Brisbois sucks and he is a captain/ team Canada finalist due to his incredible intangibles and not skill. You win
