Zemgus Girgensons
7 points in last 11 games
this needs to be posted more since he has been outstanding since the larsson injury - homiedclown
I posted about him first thing yesterday morning.
3 goals, 4 assists this month. He only had 3 goals and 3 assists going into the month.
It's how we got on the discussion of which guy is the better one to keep.
Personally, I'd keep Girgensons, he's a bit younger, has more offensive upside and is a better skater. |

If Gio is the 13th forward or if can take Moulson's spot on the fourth line, i'm fine with that. Also, he won't be captain or alternate either. He's gonna have to swallow his pride a bit if he wants another paycheck - jcragcrumple
Gio is averaging almost .5 ppg.
That is about as good as you're going to get from any average 3rd liner.
If he comes back it is not as a 13th forward.
He gets the spot over one of the kids because he hasn't done anything to lose his spot and none of the kids have done anything to take it from him yet.
He would probably give up the C but out of respect for him he would probably get the A for next year.
Again too many people are worrying about a letter on a jersey. |

you realize gionta's production 5 on 5 is pretty damn good and you could make the case he is the best 3rd liner in the nhl this season |

He's been really good. That 3rd line has been great too - sbroads24
if we could drop that down to the 4th line next season and get reinhart his own 3rd line we could be formidable... but i don't see that happening because we would need 3 wingers at that point |

I think it all plays out to how bad the 4th line wingers are.
If they can improve the 4th line and have them play a regular shift I don't see why Girgensons and Larsson can't center either line. |

He's done for the year from what I remember. He dislocated his elbow and wrist and had to have surgery. |

Agreed. It's good to see him back to the player we saw a few years ago.
If he was on this pace all season, he'd have around 50 pts. |

I'm on the other side of this, one good month doesn't bring me back around after a year and a half. Both him and Larsson were lost before they started playing with Gionta, any chance it's not really them but Gionta is helping them either with his play or his tutelage? Before the season I was very ready to move on from Girgensons, since Larsson went down I'm happy we still have him, but I'm not opposed to packaging him either.
Needs to stay this way if he wants to be a real piece here. Can't go back to doing nothing. |

Girgensons was perfectly fine prior to last year and he didn't play with Gionta then. I don't think it has to do with Gionta, I think it has to do with the fact that he's not out there with weights strapped to his ankles in terms of who his linemates are in general. He's been stuck with pretty much boat anchors all season and is now finally getting to play with guys that have a bit of talent. |

If we're serious about being good, Gionta has to be on the fourth line. If he starts the season on the fourth line, I'll know we're serious about being 1-2 rounds deep into the playoffs. If he's on the third line, it'll be a repeat of this year. His sheltered minutes point production doesn't move the needle for me at all. If he's that good playing that little, he'll be a great fourth liner |

I think that shows that either larsson or girgs has to go. I would pick girgs but whichever player gets you a better Plan is the one you move |

According to Leftwinglock.com Girgensons' main linemates this season have been Reinhart and Ennis, Kane and Gionta, and then Okoposo and Reinhart. 4th highest is Moulson and Grant.
Girgensons was fine when he was under Nolan for what that says |

Interesting trade offers on cap friendly arm chair gm.
Maatta and Hagelin (Pitt) to Buff for Kane, Girgs, Casey Nelson and a 2017 3rd.
off season trade-Manson, Stoner and a 3rd for Girgs and Foligno (not too crazy about this one).
off season trade-Scandella for 2017 1st and 2nd. (Hmm.)
Vatanen and a 3rd for Kane and Girgs.
off season trade-Brodin and Zucker for Kane, Girgs and '17 2nd rd.
GO! - mhp
I like kane but if he is what gets us real help on d im in. Vatanen i believe is rhd, so brodin is a better fit from that stand point. Dont think scandella gets our first- i believe he is their fifth best d, not moving a probable top 10 pick for that, even if its a position of great need in a meh draft. Dont like the anaheim one, and i thought maata was struggling this year. So, if kane + gets us brodin +, then sure. |

I'd almost think him being here where his Uncle could essentially be his watchdog might not be a terrible idea.
I keep going back and forth on whether or not the Bills should give him a shot if the time is right. - HonkFortheGoose
4th or 5th rd sure if they don't get one sooner.
Highly doubt they go into the season with 4 QB's as I'm guessing they aren't done with the Jones experiment. |

Other than Jones and Taylor, who else do they have?
I haven't really looked, but as far as I can remember, they only had Manuel, Jones and Taylor this year and I'm pretty sure that Manuel needs a contract at this point, which they absolutely should not even consider doing. |

Again assuming they bring in a vet to take over for Taylor (that's 1), Jones (there's 2), and one presumed to be picked in the top 2 rds (there's 3). I can't see them using another pick at QB (Kelly 4). |

They do need a backup, they can find one of those in the offseason. Kelly will fall farther than the 5th and shouldn't be picked by the Bills until the 6-7 round. If they're moving on from Tyrod it should be for Watson imo. Otherwise stick with Tyrod and build around him. A WR, a better O-line, and use the rest to rebuild the defense. |

Wow I just looked at the stats and he's averaging 17 minutes. That's even worse. He's playing 17 minutes plus 1:49 power play time and were getting .5 ppg. Like I said, I know I'm in the minority but I'd rather see the minutes elsewhere. Idk I just don't think we need him |

Why are we picking a QB in the first 2 rounds and then not playing him? Doesn't seem to be any real QBs available (Cousins maybe, Hoyer, Glennon) in free agency. Understanding that throwing a rookie into the fire isn't always great at least letting him get the experience is better than him holding a clipboard. Either way you're going to be a bad team with either a rookie QB or a FA so we're shooting for the year after that then. |
