I didn't really pick anything out in particular. He basically said he's taking it one day at a time and the goal right now is to just play each game and try to be the best he can.

I guess in a way it didn't sound like he's absolutely not leaving, but he didn't come out and say he was either.

Tough decision

As far as Gio goes, he has value and still will next year....at a reduced rate of time and money.
However, IMO we need to give Bailey and Baptiste a real shot here next year...and I think that equates to 3rd line duties for them.
I'd really like to see Reino center that line for them...but that creates an opening on Jack's current line ... so we need to fill that somehow.
No more room for Moulson and Dlo...got find a way to get rid of Moulson...pay somebody to take him even if you have to retain 50%.
Kane stays until Nylander is ready mid part of next year.

Considering that neither goalie has done anything to really "seize" the job here, if I were him, I could see an opening.

And that statement is by no means me criticizing either Lehner or Nilsson. I just think both of them have probably left a bit of an opening overall.

Bailey and Baptiste are both technically RW, though Rochester has been working Bailey on the LW at times this year. Not sure where he's currently slotting in.

I also don't think Kane should be on Eichel's wing. So I'd move Kane to Reinhart's line. I also really, really would love to see Baptiste on Eichel's wing. Kid has wheels and that's what Eichel needs right now, more than anything IMO.
