Perhaps, but that's a short tournament. Not a "I have to deal with you every day for a whole season" type of situation. - HonkFortheGoose
i thought their "rift" was about pay/leadership role or whatever. An easy way to solve this is to remind both of them who really runs this team and give that player the C.
Kind of like that scene in full metal jacket where he tells them they're all equally useless. Maybe not that extreme but yea |

i have lehner in a fantasy league.... i don't think they gave me the points for his assist on the game winner - IndianaSabresFan
Goalies don't usually get credit for points in most fantasy leagues. Not sure why, I know they don't on Yahoo, and have heard they don't on other sites too. Maybe it's a coding thing. |

I'm not sure I do either. But is it worth the risk? - HonkFortheGoose
It's fun thinking up all these different trade scenarios but honestly I don't think we're in the picture for Duchene or Landeskog. |

Another Defenseman from a D heavy team I wouldn't mind having in the 2 spot to team with Risto or 3-4 at worst is Marco Scandella from Minnesota, I just love the way he plays the game |

3.75 mil cap hit
is there a better contract in the league? im seriously asking - Sabresfan-365
Other than ELCs no. But Jarnkrok has a really good one too. He had 16 goals last year and only got a $12M contract over 6 years! Poile knows how to negotiate. |

I also don't understand the despising of Kulikov, It's not his fault that the bench door malfunctioned, I think once he gets his timing down he can be very helpful in the second half of the season. |

You have to look at the expansion draft and what d men could be left unprotected. That would be the opportunity to make a trade.
Anaheim- they have to protect Bieksa so 1-2 dman out of Vatanen, Lindholm, Fowler, Despres, Stoner and Manson.
Chicago- They have to protect Seabrook, Keith and Hjmarlsson so Van Riemsdyk and Pokka will be left unprotected.
Dallas- Stephen Johns could be left unprotected.
Florida- Pysyk and Petrovic will probably be left unprotected.
LA- McNabb and Forbort (love this guy) will be unprotected.
Minny- interesting situation. They have to protect Suter so out of Spurgeon, Brodin, Scandella, Dumba, who do they protect?
Nashville- Ellis or Ekholm could be available.
Isles- one of Pulock, Hamonic and Dehaan could be left unprotected.
Pittsburgh- Pouliot, Dumolin could be available.
San Jose- Brandon Dillen could be had.
TB- maybe Nesterov or Sustr.
You could conceivably make a deal for one of these guys and offer a pick or prospect for them. This way they don't lose them to Vegas and will get something in return. We look good in offering picks because we have 2 2nds and 2 3rds in this draft. |

One of my favorite contracts. I would do similar with Foligno |

Kane would fit the kings nicely. Can we have McNabb back please? Ellis and Hamonic would be good, and Ekholm would be too good to be true |

Kane would be perfect in SoCal.
Out of the list I posted, my choices would be Vatanen (he will probably be protected), Ekholm, Forbort, Scandella and Hamonic. |

Thanks for this. Totally makes sense. I do wonder if some teams will be forced to go with the 8 skater option due to having too man defenders like in Minnie's scenario. |

Let's take the Wild as an example. They are required to protect Parise, Koivu, Pominville and Suter. So assuming they don't move Pommer before hand, under the 8 skater scenario they would have to protect 4 players out of Staal, Coyle, Granlund, Niederiter, Zucker, Haula, Spurgeon, Scandella, Brodin, Dumba. Tough decisions.
Under the 7/3 scenario, it's even worse. They would need to protect 4 forwards (Coyle, Granlund, Niedreiter and Zucker) and only 2 dmen out of Scandella, Spurgeon, Brodin and Dumba. |

I like vatanen as well but Ekholm as a lefty would make an unbelievable pair with Risto. Alas, it's probably a pipe dream |

Yeah, there's a saying "I can stand on my head in a bucket of poop for (insert short amount of time here)".
I don't know that everything wasn't overblown since the NHL tends to be so tight lipped about everything. The media caught wind and milked it for everything it's worth. I don't think he was necessarily pissed at Duchene personally, but pissed that they wouldn't give him the position/money he thought he'd earned because Duchene was ahead of him. |
