This Duchene talk needs to stop.

He scored 70 points 3 years ago, other than that he is a 55-60 point player.

He scored 30 goals ONCE in his career. He is a good player no doubt but the trades being suggested here for him are insane.

He isn't a sniper, he is an all around good player, not a great player. He is another ROR at this point.

A good but not great player. Doesn't do that one this great is just an all around good hockey player.

Get a sniper, get a Phil Kessel type.

I threw the Reinhart, McCabe for Duchene deal out there, it wasn't something I heard. The AVS want alot for him and we don't have the pieces we can move for him. We need other pieces and not Duchene.

He is a lot closer than you think.

On pace for 51 points.

50 point players that young get paid that amount these days

- Stripes77

6 mill a year for Reinhart is a joke, maybe 5.

I wouldn't trade Reinhart for him straight up at this point. Not saying Reinhart is better but he is younger and getting better every week.

Depends on how long the contract is for.

$6 million for 8 years could turn out to be a bargain for Reinhart

Eichel is the only player that should get that long, ROR deal is too long IMO.

All depends on length. You sign him to 8 years, 6 mil and that contract could look ridiculously good in 4 years. At worst, if he tops out at 50-60 points, it's not terrible. The cap will rise

We have more important thing to worry about besides Matt Duchene, IMO I would rather have Landy.

I don't think Reinhart would sign an 8 year deal. Those lengths are usually when they are in the UFA years.

IMO, he either signs a 4 or 5 year deal that takes him to 28-29 years old, and gives him the ability to cash in, or signs a bridge, then cashes in

You're probably right but $6 million for Reinhart isn't that far of a stretch especially if next season is better than this one.

He probably signs a 5 year $5.5 per deal or something

We gave up a lot to get O'Reilly off their roster, so I don't see them giving us Duchene for a bag of pucks because they feel bad for us. They are trying to compete too, which I understand. I agree with you about the outrageous price isn't worth it for him. I also think we already robbed the cupboards bare trying to get the players GMTM targeted.

I think we just have to sit back and be patient now with this team.

GMTM will really earn his $$$ by drafting well. No salary cap on the scouting department according to Pegula, so let's see how that works for us...

Murray should be in no rush to make any deals, we have taken on some big deals with ROR and Okposo, get 15 and 23 signed and worry about upgrading the D. Gotta watch the young players we move in the AHL, might come back to haunt us.

I can see it. I think 5-5.5 would be ideal for a 3-5 year deal.

IMO, if I were him, I'd sign a 2 year 10 mil deal, and bank on a huge pay day in the middle of his prime

kane has been playing lights out

why are we trading him now?

CRAZY

- homiedclown

Well,
Cost is $5m
Plays on the 3rd line
Injury prone
Off ice issue may lead to future on ice issues

Value will never be higher and could be the central piece in getting out top hD or a Top 6 player.

When do you want to sell him, after his next sexual transgression and we would be lucky to get a 7th.

Sell high, not low.

Crazy I know, but facts do get in the way.

Bills re-signed S Colt Anderson to a one-year contract.
Anderson, 31, appeared in two games for the Bills this past season, making a pair of special teams tackles and playing zero defensive snaps. He has 79 games of experience and has a history with new coach Sean McDermott.

It was either Compher or Bailey.

I do find it funny, and I'm not pointing fingers cause they'd be pointed back at me as well...but how we all want to trade certain players...Ennis, Kane, Bogo, etc...when they are in a slump...and we expect a top return.
Then, when a player ups their trade value by playing well .... welp, we have to keep them now!

As much as Girgs and Kane have found their games, I wish Ennis would as well.
I'd like to see Ennis put on the line with Eichel and see if he can finish on those juicy set-ups that Jack is serving up these days. Maybe that will be the spark. Move Foligno or Kane to ROR - Okposo.
