again, if this team makes the playoffs why wouldn't you want a player like kane on the 3rd line, second pp team and leading the charge on the pk

I'd like to see Ennis put on the line with Eichel and see if he can finish on those juicy set-ups that Jack is serving up these days. Maybe that will be the spark. Move Foligno or Kane to ROR - Okposo. - IonSabres
I would love to see baptiste or bailey on the wing for jack
IMO a kane-eichel-baptiste line could be scary good |

I do find it funny, and I'm not pointing fingers cause they'd be pointed back at me as well...but how we all want to trade certain players...Ennis, Kane, Bogo, etc...when they are in a slump...and we expect a top return.
Then, when a player ups their trade value by playing well .... welp, we have to keep them now!
As much as Girgs and Kane have found their games, I wish Ennis would as well.

Foligno is on Jack's line to keep any other team from doing something stupid to Jack, and to play along the boards. I have no problem with him in that line they are playing well.

Well, Kane played well last season with Eichel...after a little adjustment (like let Jack carry the puck) ... so I'm not opposed to it...but if we can keep Kane producing with Girgs and Gionta...AND spark Ennis that is a win / win.
As for trading Kane, if some GM is offering up a solid LhD to pair with Risto for the next 5 years and they want Kane + pick/prospect... I'm all in and don't look back, twice on Sunday. That's all I'm saying...I'm not chasing him out for below value, and hopefully one of Bailey/Baptiste can then replace that production in time...when we really need it. |

I get that, but the guy has missed like 4 or 5 golden opportunities lately from Jack and Reino set-ups. We need a finisher there...and they'll be playing Great! |

He's perfect in that role. Question is, does he want that role going forward on a new deal |

4 year $5 million deal to stay in Buffalo or sees what other teams will pay him?
I think the big thing that could (I have no idea just guessing) be on his mind is he has never played in the playoffs.
If this Sabres team somehow makes the playoffs this season (they better next season) and they start making some serious steps to be a legit contender does Kane mature in the next year and a half and realize he wants to be a part of something big? Or does he just want a big pay day? |

Isn't Nylander a LW?
I just think Kane is too expensive for a 3rd liner like he is playing great at now...it's ok for now, but too costly down the road.
And, I've said it many times before...I hope the Sabres are sellers at the TDL.
It is setting up perfectly to be a seller with so many teams contending for a playoff spot who'll find themselves overpaying for a piece to get them there....
Sell, sell, sell...accumulate currency that can be used to acquire real talent when many teams need to sell in the offseason to get some value back for guys they can't protect in the expansion draft. |

We didn't lose last night because Bylsma parked the bus.
We lost last night because Lindy was smart enough to yank his sub .900 goaltender and Bylsma wasn't.

For all this talk of "parking the bus", both goaltenders' numbers have been decreasing since Eichel came back and they opened things up. |

They are, which is another factor that puts the "park the bus" notion closer to myth than reality. |

If he would stay for 3-4 years at 5 mil, that would be cool. I think they would be hesitant about long term |

I've been beating the Baptiste drum pretty much since Jack came back from his ankle injury. He needs wingers that can keep up with him. And Baptiste can absolutely do that. |

Boy Lindy's team defense is so arocious. I appreciate Miller more and more whenever the Stars play.
They literally just let guys like Eichel and Kane walk right in on them |

Miller was great on two on ones and breakaways (shootouts too). I used to get so mad whenever guys would take a penalty on one of those situations. Just let your goaltender do his thing. He made the save far more often than not. |

Not really a fan of Kane on Eichel's wing. Outside of a small number of games at the end of last season, it just hasn't worked.
I know they were trying to get Bailey used to playing on the left. Maybe they're thinking they could roll out Bailey - Eichel - Baptiste next year. |

I have never seen a goalie so good inside 15 feet and so blah outside 25 feet |
