And again, I'm not arguing about the merits of the ban, mostly. I'm specifically talking about these people that are here and stuck in airports across the country.

"Extreme-vet" the poop out of people, whatever, I don't want terrorists coming in either.

But this is about as inhumane as you can get. Let these people in who have already done everything we said was necessary to come here. And then we can move on to whether or not the ban is anywhere near Constitutional.

Edit: Either way, Congress is allowed to enact sanctions on their own too. And there is no love lost between Congress, both sides of the aisle, and Russia. I'm sure a few people here and there, but as a whole, more than enough for a vote to pass.

You're half right. There are two sets of sanctions. Congress passed the first, and Obama the second just before his term was up.
