Perhaps you should look up the word "youth" in the dictionary |

The Bishop to cow town rumours are back up on the eklund board.
Would any of you trade this years first straight up? Is that too much? Not enough?
He's kind of having a dumpy year. I would be worried about having to sign him to a horrible contract. - The-O-G
Part of me would rather fleury just because he won't cost as much in terms of trade and contract

Yeah it would be interesting to hear the trade banter....I would have to think the availability of Fleury would really keep the Bishop cost in check. It's all just speculation I guess. No reason for Tampa to keep him at all. |

Well do they want to lose either for nothing? I would assume no. |

I'm still assuming they will trade bishop due to age of both ...but for sake of arguement what if they went to bishop and said if you take less money we will keep you and trade Vasilevskiy ...there would be a market for him and teams might be willing to take on another contract to help tampa's cap problems |

Far too soon to be giving up 1st rounders. I'd rather stick with Elliott and Johnson for now. Re signing then should be relatively cheap as of right now. Top priority should be a young top 6 rw. Not hudler, not Doan, and not Iggy. |

Guys a perfect 4th liner that everyone wants to make into bad top 6 winger - Redmile247
He can't be anymore of a disappointment than Chiasson... at least he would shed the mitts if needed. |

Would anyone consider packaging Bennett for either Bishop or Hamonic?

Johnny and monny should play with either frolik or Brouwer |

Unless we are protecting 4 D this can't happen |

What do you guys think about Varlamov? He's having a bit of a down year but when he is on he is a vezina calibre goaltender.
Colorado could be willing to just about give him away if they intend on protecting Pickard. Maybe there'd even be potential to work a blockbuster out? If only Landeskog was a RW, he'd be a perfect target. I just don't think I'd like the price...maybe if we could get away with only adding picks/prospects?
Elliott
Kylington
1st
Varlamov
Landeskog
They get a blue chip d-prospect and a 1st to help re-build the re-build and Elliott could audition to be the 1a/1b with Pickard next season. We get a goalie with some pedigree and another gritty (young) top 6 forward who could look good with Bennett.
P.S
I'm not really advocating for a trade right now, just kind of interested in the possibility of something like this. My vote would be to stay the course and re-evaluate our roster/goaltending during the offseason. |

I like the way your thinking but I don't think we need 3 high end LW's when we need a RW
Also I think varlamov should be a buy low guy

Nah, I still think Bennett is going to be a major contributor for us. If we make the playoffs this year I'd be willing to bet he'd cement himself as a Flame for life.
Plus protecting 4 d would mean that we'd most likely have to expose Brouwer and Ferland. I think we will be able to fill our needs on the blueline from within the organization. I don't want to waste a high value asset on something that we might already have waiting down in Stockton. |

And then only protect monahan, Johnny , backs , frolik upfront ? |

Next year I'd imagine kulak takes a step forward and there's the possibility of adding a D via free agency too

Agreed, it shouldn't take a 1st & especially if we are giving them Elliott back I would think a 2nd rounder would suffice & possibly maybe a prospect like Hickey who has fallen in our D depth with Kylington Andersson & Fox looking like capable NHLer's.
I'd be down with that & get a 30 day trial run with him.

Yeah that's why I'm not really pushing for it . If Landeskog was a RW though I would be fully erect and suggest this on a daily basis .
Basically Varly and Elliott would be the straight swap. Kylington and the 1st would be what I'd expect the price to be for Landeskog (maybe I'm off on that, I really don't know). Colorado would also most likely have to eat some salary for at least the remainder of this year.
Can Landeskog play RW at all? Does anyone know? |

Varly has another year at 6 mill ...so it's not a straight swap ...your giving avs cap relief next year
If I'm giving up that much I want someone who's a natural RW anyways
