If Reinhart scores 10 goals in a season but plays 18 minutes a night, he's actually producing less relative to his ice time, than a guy who scores 10 goals, playing 10 minutes a night.

Bennett looks like he's having a terrible year, but the nuance is that he's playing 3rd line minutes with little PP time. And that shows in the numbers

I don't think Bennett is better right now by any stretch, but some of it is opportunity. He doesn't get the special teams minutes the other 2 get.

Draisaitl - 7.64 (141 minutes)
Reinhart 4.61 (156 minutes)
Bennett 2.36 (He's only played 76 PP minutes, waaay less than the other 2)

I think if we knew at the time that we were getting Eichel, we would have taken Draisatl. Reinhart had a higher upside and we desperately needed a #1 C. From what I remember, all the scouts had Reinhart/Bennett locked, with Draisaitl below them. We could use Draisaitl's toughness as an anchor on a solid 3rd line and on the wing when we need a goal

I think it probably would have been Reinhart either way. Which is fine, he's good.

But that draft class is interesting to me. It was viewed as weak, and there have been some surprises in it

PP time, yes. 5 on 5 he isn't much different from Reinhart. Dras is better in both 5 on 5 and PP
