I mean, yeah, the refs sucked, but that was an incredible lack of effort. Coming back off of a break you gotta crack the whip on guys and get them back into it right away. - BINGO!
Three coaches at least have dealt with the crappy effort after a break. It's time to look more at the players themselves. |

I honestly am starting to think that a major problem is the IQ level on most of these players is awful. They look lost, and their individual decision making honestly leaves you scratching your head every shift out there. How some of these guys can keep making the same decisions with and without the puck is mind boggling.
How is Read still on this team? Good grief what does he bring to this team in any way? What has he scored like 1 goal in last 40 games?
Our defense outside of Provorov is swiss cheese...I have no idea how in the world Streit is still playing hockey, because he is a pp specialist? then leave him on the bench and play him only when we get a PP, because he is brutal 5 on 5, and in our end im just ecstatic when he actually is capable of getting the puck from his stick onto another player from our own teams stick. - Buzzo
Yeah. Not enough skill in the forward corps and not enough mobility, jam and skill on d. Its as simple as that. fully expect at least sanheim and morin on the squad next year and I'm happy to see them learn at this level. It can't be worse than this. Sure morin has to improve, but he plays with an edge and seems to care. The part I can't stand about this team is they seem to. E going through the motions. Don't seem to have pride to fight back. No big hits. No dust ups in the crease. Simmonds aside, it's sad when kony has shown the most will to get under someone's skin. |

With the play of those guys I'd say he's getting saved. |

There's a quote on CSNphilly.com where Streit said the team has to be "more mature" to make the playoffs. That quote makes me think of the 'behind the scenes' reasons they got rid of Richards and Carter- the partying and not entirely buying into the coaching.
Does anyone know, are we starting to hear rumblings of stuff like that? Is Streit trying to say something without really coming out and saying something? Does anyone know? |

Streit normally just says something, not beat around the bush.
If Orangekrush were here he could tell us if he has seen any of the players out partying |

Firstly the Flyers did not lose because of officiating. ....stating that. but Jesus how can Stempniak clearly target AMAC's head and only get 2? that was not a case of a player turning last second or ducking last second. and how does Skinner hit Manning in the face and get nothing? should have been 4. 2 refs on the ice and 4 officials and they still miss this stuff.
3 coaches....Lavy, Berube and Hakstol and still the same issues....slow starts, bad games after long breaks, very few 60 min efforts. bad games happen but my god last night was an absolute joke of an effort. I appreciate Hakstol saying its on him for not getting the team ready but that is crap. they are all freaking professional athletes. its their own responsibility to be ready to compete. 3 coaches and the same issues. at what point do the players start taking responsibility for their play? I know people call for the coach to be fired but I am sick of the coaching carousel. this is on the players.

Who could you see as possible click's that do the partying thing on this team? I really do not see anyone who really fits the bill that the Richards/Carter era had here.

And yet the same issues lie with a team that has had a lot of player turnover since that time..Is it the core group like Giroux/Jake/Simmonds/Mason etc? |

Not sure about the clicks, but we all know a certain captain that can drink a little too much.

I don't believe its that. But has our captain just hit that point where he isn't a factor anymore? At an 8 million cap hit he needs to be more then a PP specialist and I am not sure what more he can do. |
