you want shattenkirk to be the answer then remember what thats going to cost next year - mrn22
and also, when you sign shattenkirk to that monster deal its going to affect signing these young guys down the line so maybe you end up losing a Miller or someone else anyways
Det waived Dman Alexey Marchenko not much offensive ability solid in own end and real good on pk has good size 6' 3 210 might be worth a shot at 1.45 mil

Hasnt gotten much of a look in Florida either and they havent exactly been a stalwart team to there they dont have the need where he could have gotten a shot

Maybe, depends on how many players already under contract and who are passsing through waivers?
If that offer was made from Boston, it would be solid not spectacular. I like Spooner a lot, but buried on third line for the B's. Miller is okay not great. I wonder if the Rangers try and include Halverson in a deal? Shestyorkin is the future in about three years and Hank clearly is set for that period. Raanta might pass through the expansion draft due to all the other goalies available, so you would have a back up next year and then have to figure the following two.

would you trade Sean Day, Brandon Halverson and Ottawa's 2nd for Shatty? and would that even get a sniff from the Blues

Depends upon whether teams opinions of Day have gone up since last year's draft. Personally, I think the kid has first pair measurables, but he may need a brain transplant to achieve that. He has the speed, skating ability and shot of a Top 10 pick.

wouldn't do Day, no way, too much upside right now. Might say same with Graves. Maybe Kovacs and the 1 with Halverson. They like Copley but Binnington stock has fallen.
If we really want to cash in for players we probably wont hold on to after expansion... why not shop Grabner for a defensemen... flip side is that we lose speed/fore-check w/ explosive scoring potential. But maybe this will help developing players like Miller, Kreider, Vesey, Hayes to fill in that void. Another is Holden, obviously surprising season but we could cash in for a young stay at home defensemen. - disorca
Grabner has done so much more than just his 22 goals. His speed is a threat, look who drew that penalty last night. He should be protected IMO.

Which one of the core 7 do you expose instead of Grabner (Nash, Stepan, Kreider, Miller, Zuccarello, Zibby, and Hayes (barring trade)?
