Assume cal signs - Sabresfan-365
Then yes. I think Nilsson is a good backup so I'd keep him and let Ullmark have his shot next year (can then protect him from expansion). With Peterson in the AHL and the option of Johansson we have a good one two punch for the farm. Keeping Lehner and signing Peterson may leave one too many chefs in the kitchen. Also would help with the cap since Lehner is up this year. |

I would bet that after we sell, sell, sell... we end up with a boatload of picks in the 2-4th round range. I think we pick up another goalie this year to replace Kasdorf, they've seen enough of him, he doesn't have it. |

We already have 2 2nds right? i would try to move up i dont think this draft is particularly deep is it?
Trade the first for D help and then move what i hope is three seconds by then to get back in the first round? |

Although Ullmark did look pretty good for us last year...
he's still putting up pretty average stats in Rochester (2.84gaa, .913save%)
I'm not sure he should be our backup next year,
Let alone our starter
If we were to trade Lehner (which I'd be shocked to see)...
I'd consider going after Bishop as a UFA
Even with Lehner I'd consider it, but I doubt Murray would |

Right. And, I agree with trying to move up. I see us with 3 seconds (adding Kuli trade) and I see us with 5 3rds, (adding trades of Franson, Gionta, and Nilsson to the two 3rd rounders we already have) So, we'll have plenty to move up if Murray doesn't piss the picks away first, and we'll still have rounds 4, 6, and 7 to grab a goalie. |

random thought but would you do a fabbri-lehner trade? - Sabresfan-365
No, because I don't think Nilsson can be a starter. He's strictly plug and play. I like Fabbri, and see if we could do something else, but Lehner is too valuable because we don't have any other guy who can play every game. |

I think I'd rather use the 3 picks to take defensemen and a goalie
Supposed to be a pretty good year for goalies
And we really need to be drafting more defensemen |

Yeah, but we don't have a single decent defensive prospect in Rochester. Maybe Nelson. Ullmark is being left out to dry. |

met a blues fan today and long story short conversation went there.
Total green light by the way
Edit: she, just so gerbe won't bring it up lol - Sabresfan-365
For a second, I thought you were talking about the anthem chick. I was like how (frank)ing behind is my stream? And then I realized you were talking about the Blues fan. A Blues fan in Scotland? That's a bit odd, or are you home? |

He might've been the one to move Bishop in the first place...
Edit: Was it just Bishop for Conacher? I can't remember, or did Conacher go with Bishop to Tampa?
Double Edit: Bishop for Conacher and a 4th. Good move, Uncle Bryan... |

That's a good point,
and I've only watched a couple Rochester games this year...
but I still like to see some better numbers from Ullmark
Maybe he is ready to be a backup next year for us?
I still wouldn't wanna go into the season with him as the starter though |

Yeah, I think that was the deal
Idk if GMTM was making trades though...
I think his uncle was calling the shots as far as trades go
Also, I think they were stacked in net at the time |

I guess I was wrong
Must have been Girgensons #28 I saw instead of Fedun's 38
My bad
EDIT
I just looked back
It was definitely Fedun fully dressed
I wonder why he'd be dressed if he wasn't playing?
Weird, right? |

Agreed, not the starter, but his games with us last year I think proved he can play the backup role.

Small sample though
I think it was like 15-20 games
EDIT
also, we have to sign Nilsson (or another goalie) so that we have someone to expose to Vegas
Assuming we just bring back Nilsson (can't see Vegas picking him)...
looks like Ullmark will be in Rochester again next year
Likely with Petersen |

Pedestrian numbers, but he is on a very bad team. I have only watched about a half dozen games, but he looked solid or better in each. To me that means he could be a decent backup at least, but perhaps that's a stretch. |

I think Nilsson gets another 1 year deal from us though |

Were McCabe or Gorges game time decisions? Could explain. |
