Holy crap! Did you guys see Zads hit on Scheifele? Another dead Jet.

That's tough. Scheifele is leaning forward. Zads kind of rises up. It's certainly borderline, probably worth a fine. A game at the most.

i know this kid is probably going to land 2-3 of these hits a year, but i kinda wish we kept him just to keep other teams heads up.
we kinda need a "psycho" defenceman.

Risto might not hit guys like that, but he's pretty damn mean.

How the hell did he get a charging penalty for that? Clean hit IMO, he was barely moving when the hit happened, he just stopped moving back and stepped up a bit.
- BigStew

Only Kronwall is allowed to get away with that. That's charging, just because you skate backwards, and don't skate very fast doesn't mean it's not charging. He skated from inside the zone to the center ice circle all the way to the faceoff dot, he also rose up right before the hit. It was charging. It was predatory.

Did not see a second of a 4-0 shut out.

Saw every second of our last few losses.

Jesus Christ, it's no wonder I'm a Nancy about this team

I think maybe, maybe this team is starting to gel, and build chemistry!
No excuse, but all the injuries had to be affecting this team.

I wouldn't say dominated. It was a great game all around, but we just capitalized on our chances. Our goalie made the saves, their didn't. I'm pretty sure we got out shot for the game, didn't we?

Another bad second period, but overall, I thought the team played a great game tonight. Can still be even better though (which is exciting!)

Yes, but to be fair we had the lead for 50 minutes. A team is usually more aggressive when down.

Wow, Marcus has 9 goals already? That's pretty damn good. He's been on the 3rd line for most of the season.
- Wetbandit1

Yeah...
I really don't understand all the "hate" he's been getting
I think he's been good on the wing with Eichel & Sam
Ppl say he's too slow to keep up...
but idk if he's slower than Sam
and I don't see him lagging behind the play while Eichel is in the offensive zone by himself waiting for help

I can't watch most games as closely as some others though bc I'm often bartending during them
But I like what I've seen

If I were gonna switch things around at all...
I think I'd put Sam at 3C and put Okposo on Eichel's RW

It's gonna be interesting over the next year or 2 when we integrate Bailey & Nylander into the lineup
And possibly Baptiste & Fasching, and seeing where Carrier might slot in

Anyone else is probably at least 3 years away except maybe Asplund

Our forward lines are far from set though
We'll see a decent amount of juggling over the next 2 seasons

Replay on MSG on Sunday

We're a young team
Even very talented youngsters like we have are going to be inconsistent from game to game
Heck...
we're inconsistent from period to period some nights!

I know everyone's patience is wearing thin,
But it's gonna take time for these kids to turn into Pros

We're probably gonna miss the playoffs this year,
But I don't think it'll be by much
And this team has had A LOT of setbacks this year

I like the direction we are headed
Still have some work to do though obviously

Just watched the highlights as I missed the game last night.
Eichel looked like he wanted it last night, the whole highlight was about him creating.
If they had guys that could finish his setups, holy cow! Sam's goal was nice, but even on that he missed his first chance but score don't off the rebound. Foligno, while scoring last night also missed another golden opportunity.

They didn't show a lot, so wondering how Bailey looked last night? I saw he got some time with Reino and Jack, but mostly saw Foligno with them.

Jack played incredible last night. Kid could stick handle in a phone booth. Sam showed why he was picked where he was with his creativity and his hands. Foligno showed me why he is on that line last night. He's been playing hard and dropped the gloves when guys were getting a little too free with Jack.

Bailey looked no different than before IMO. Hopefully it clicks for him sooner than later and he isn't Mark Mancari 2.0.

I guess that Rangers game never happened then regarding Bailey?

He needs a fair, extended chance with real minutes.

He needs an extended chance but also needs to earn his minutes. I understand he had 1 good game when called up, just calling a spade a spade!

Bailey had a terrible turnover trying to bring the puck out up the middle of he ice. They were hemmed in for a while and finally Bailey gained possession and I was like yeahhhhh, then two Sens collapsed on him and I was like nooooooo. All in all, Bailey was noticeable, good speed, but seemed to try things that he might get away with in the AHL, but not the NHL.

Lehner was fantastic last night. So was Eichel, Okposo, Sam and ROR. Kane was awesome. Risto was a bear and so was Foligno. Ottawa has a D Man named Boroweicki (sp?) that was trying to run Eichel all night and Foligno ended up fighting him. Looks like he'll take over for Chris Neil as one of the biggest delta bravos in the division to play against. Oh yeah, I bet nobody realizes this, but Foligno has a bomb of a shot. I bet he could hit 100 mph.

Out to dinner last night. Kane was sitting at the table next to me and overheard a lot of talk about Carolina. Trade coming?
- bigolbig
