PM isnt the best source here but white looks legit. A lot of the players taken in that range from that year do.

That's true, but there was a lot of talent there at that spot.

Besides the rebound issue, I don't have a problem whatsoever with Lehner, I think he's a fine starter, but you can find guys that are pretty good In a lot of places

I think Lehner is probably this teams long term starter if he keeps this level of play + stays healthy. Both can happen, both also "if's" too.

goaltending is important...e.g. the canadiens last year without price, tampa with a sub-par bishop...the stars...and as bob goes in c-bus, so do the jackets

Only if we are the only team claiming him.

Also, that resets our order to be last for waiver claims, something i feel Murray was waiting to around trade deadline to use, when a trade happens and I team waivers a "better" player. Will see what happens.

So goaltending in the regular season can be found almost anywhere, but come playoff time, you need a strong goalie, or a sub par goalie having his career year.

So having your goalie be whomever, they need to basically have their career year to win a cup and there next year find another guy having his best year?

We want to build a cup contender for years, then you need to find a solid goalie. Lehner may not be the one, but it is a good thing to have.

It might be important, but it's usually a result of the team in front of the goalies play, and it's the hardest position to predict.

I just looked through the whole of Article 13 in the CBA which covers Waivers and there's no mention of teams falling into any waiver claim spot other than dependant on standings.

It might be important, but it's usually a result of the team in front of the goalies play, and it's the hardest position to predict.

I've seen good teams get beat early bc of crappy goaltending
And teams that are just decent go far bc of a hot goalie

Unless you're scoring 4-5goals in the playoffs,
You usually win & lose based on goalie play above the other stuff
