Anyone who thinks this team is close to being a legit contender is fooling themselves. Light years away. - PLindbergh31
Is there another Richards/Carter trade out there? |

In 4 games since the ASG, they have 1 non empty net ES goal.
Ouch
- BiggE
Isles scored 5 ES goals just last night! |

Since it's full on doom and gloom, what could the Flyers realistically get from ARZ if we offered Giroux and Simmonds? I'm using ARZ because 1. They will have top draft pick. 2. They have cap space and have a fair amount of pending UFAS and cheap young players. 3. Some added veteran players would fit their age group / balance of their team (especially Simmonds as a team leader). |

I understand what Hak is trying to do with this defensive style they're playing, but they are taking it too far. They seem to be playing not to lose, rather than playing to win and that just isn't going to work. You have to allow the few skilled players you have to open things up a bit and take some chances. Expecting guys like Giroux and Ghost to play like Vandevelde and Schultz is not a recipe for success. |

Clayton Keller would be the only target. |

If your moving Simmonds, I want a guy like Draisatl coming back. You'll need to add a top D prospect to get a deal like that done. - BiggE
I would like him too. But I think Edmonton will move Nugent-Hopkins before Draisatl.

I noticed more aggressiveness from the d last night. More pinching. Doesn't mean it worked |

Simmonds is one of like 4 veteran players I wouldn't trade unless it was for a stupid overpayment. He is probably one of the more prized players around the NHL. |

And the Flyers would likely move Schenn before Simmonds. |

Last night I actually thought they played a good game until that 1st goal. They seemed to be going to the net. Playing a tight defense, not giving up chances. They just have a small degree of wiggle room to win games.

I have no desire to move Simmonds. It's just a known he would get us the best return. I think if you make Simmonds available you have every NHL GM interested. It doesn't matter if it's a contender or a poop team. His tangibles are cherished by any team, coach, fan base, and GM. |

If I'm moving Simmonds it's only as part of a deal to bring back a legit #1C who is 23 or younger. Period. |

Flyers would get a haul. And they'd be trading him at his peak value for a team not less than 3 years (the end of his contract) Away from seriously competing |

They'd likely be trading the best player in the deal, which is never a good thing. Trading a star player for a bunch of prospects and spare parts isn't my idea of good asset management. |

That's not what I saw last night. They were pretty aggressive and played a style that isn't anywhere near taking it too far. |
