Long time reader and first time poster. Forced to post because I am fed up with the pro-management slant a lot of the posters have on here.
The organization has not won a cup in over 40 years. - StepfordSam
The owner for those 40 years is dead, and the GM isn't similar to the previous ones and learned his trade in another organization which did win Cups. Are we supposed to be anti-current management based on the mistakes of prior management? |

Funny that you don't like the pro-management slant but end on that last paragraph. - dragonoffrost
Welcome. Its interesting that you are fed up with the pro slant of the posters here in that you echoed some of the same points that those same posters have stated. Hakstol does use analytics. - MJL

- Became very angry when someone asked how far the Flyers are away from Capitals and Penguins. Said they can compete with any team in the NHL. That was the last question directed to him. He left the room somewhat flustered. Looked like he was happy to get out of the room.
seriously he gets that flustered and angry over those questions? seems a bit over the top - nastyflyergirl
Hey, if it makes the STH feel better to vent on the coach then I guess it's okay for the STH, but really, why would you want to piss off the coach by asking "social media" type questions. |

they were all valid questions. just answer them even if its coach speak. why get annoyed? I mean I don't care either way but maybe Holmgren and Hextall should better prepare him to just roll with it - nastyflyergirl
Were they? The interjection of "like?" seemed kind of smart-assed and entitled to me. |

I saw nothing wrong with any of the questions including the like. they are season ticket holders and had questions. I don't get why Hakstol had a hissy fit. personally I don't give a poop if the coach is a Richard or not as long as he is a good coach. just don't see a reason to be so short. what did he expect? I like the questions the fans asked over most the media toss at them |

In the limited views that we have of Hakstol behind the bench, he doesn't seem like someone who loses his cool easily. We're supposed to believe he did over a few questions from fans? I would take any report by a fan with a grain of salt. He's not liked by many right now, undeserved. |

I'm going to go out on a pretty safe limb and state that any reports of Hakstol having a hissy fit are BS. |

I don't know, the questions in that one clip weren't really intelligent questions. As a STH you have the opportunity to ask the leadership questions and you come in with "people on social media are saying....?" Seems like it's just intended to aggravate ( I'm going to show him just how angry I am! That'll teach him." Seems like a wasted opportunity to me. |

See my comment above lol j/k
Besides, only some people are saying that about AMac - they're just very vocal and repetitive about it
Seriously, though, Hakstol answered the question very calmly and in detail (and didn't claim that AMac is a top-3 NHL d-man as was declared here earlier) and then she got sassy with her "like?" |

Ok so instead of saying people are saying on social media...maybe just question what he sees in AMAC that others don't seem to see and ask about scratching Ghost. those are questions being asked every day by flyers fans. not sure why its a waste of a question. How many people on here have questioned why accountability isn't across the board? so maybe her delivery wasn't the best but what she was asking wasn't so off the wall. I would like to see the whole Q & A. Bo has posted them in the past. maybe she will again if she attended |

Yes, there is a huge element of how a question is asked. She asked like a middle-schooler who just got punished when her sister didn't. Imho, she's lucky she got the well-thought and articulate answer that Hakstol gave. |

Long time reader and first time poster. Forced to post because I am fed up with the pro-management slant a lot of the posters have on here.
The organization has not won a cup in over 40 years. It is a results-oriented business like some here are so fond of saying, so it is fair game to criticize the way they do things.
That being said, I like Hextall's approach and he is doing the right thing by being patient. Build through the draft. Right now the biggest concern is the 1-C. If Giroux does not elevate his play, this must be addressed by Hextall at some point. That does not mean getting rid of Giroux. It means replacing his talent level from 2-3 years ago so this team can truly contend in a few years time. I don't see a way a player like this is acquired outside of getting lucky in the draft.
Also, it is not all on the coach, but there is a legitimate reason to worry. Hakstol has made some poor personnel decisions. I really don't like how he is handling Ghost in particular. It appears he is more of an old school guy rather than what I hoped we were getting: new blood that used analytics (key word: appropriately) as well as the eye test.
This group is on their 3rd coach and still show the same inconsistent level of play, game to game, period to period, that they have for years now. I will always criticize management more than the players but as a whole, this core is more responsible for their current level of play than any coach/GM. - StepfordSam
