Bill,
Would they bring up Greg Carey to maybe try and bring some offense with Konecny out? - J35Bacher
Doubtful. He scores most of his goals on the PP. |

We are trusting in the process already...
It's just that the process isn't a totally deconstruct and reconstruct. |

Then this is the most bobo (frank)ing process I've ever seen.
This is literally anti-process |

Something they could maybe use on the 2nd pp with Konecny out.
I know the knock on him was his defensive game. Was just curious as I am not sure filling a top 6 role with Leier or Laughton would be right. I would just rather have a more offensive player over maybe someone like Weise, Read, Laughton or Leier if called up. |

I agree totally that Bishop would not fare much better than Mason or Neuvirth and Bishop stock has dropped considerably with his injury woes and really he has not been that great. I posted the other day that I would love to see Gost play lw with Giroux and Voracek and was happy to see that you agree it should be considered. I do not think Gost will ever master playing without the puck but his skill is undeniable. Trying him at forward or on the point on the pp or in ot with 93 and 28 and then he will become useful and believe me the team needs a spark. - joegreif17
Bill did not agree that it should be considered. He said it would be the worst thing that could be done. |

The process is draft and develop just like the Sixers did only differs in that the Flyers aren't trying not to win games. |

Carey's not going to get a top 6 role in the NHL. He's a career AHLer like Brennan. Weal, Laughton and Leier don't have his booming shot, but they are all better offensive players than Carey. |

Nah, it's like building a house.
It's all exciting and easy to see progress when they're framing and roofing and putting the siding on.
Then it looks like nothing is happening for a while. It's the same old same old. (Meanwhile, in reality, there is a ton of work going on internally that we can't see from the outside.)
Then one day, the front door opens and you've got yourself a full blown house warming party.

Yes because the draft class is supposed to be light this year. Flyers luck would be to end up at around #8 (say 7th worst record) going into the lottery and come out #11. And with LV added in that pick probably will be a project. |

But right now it just looks like my poopty old house and all they've installed is a new hot water heater and air conditioner and replaced a couple broken windows with other broken windows. |

Those broken windows (MDZ, Streit, Schultz) leave and shiny new ones arrive soon! |

And by how Chicago and Los Angeles won a couple championship each, I'd say the Flyers are on track. We are just in that painful stage right now. |

It wouldn't just end up being this season though. It would be several.
It hurts me to type that but in reality, holding on to some of these guys in their latter twenties is just depreciating assets with no substantial return. It could take a decade to retool drafting 11-20 every season. |

At this point, I call up Weal and give him another look at the NHL level. Not sure if he will get it right away but he seems like the ideal extra forward for this time right now as well. |

Once the base prospects are here you trade some of the current core to finish the puzzle.
Oh and the Kopitar is here already... yep you know who! |
