Hope is hot 3 weeks of the month.
But to lose Kane for a couple 2nds (hopefuls) Is foolish. - cabin
Kane has a whole nother year on his contract... he is NOT getting moved at this year's deadline guys. Good grief.
He was the first BIG acquisition for this rebuild. We are going to see it through until next year's deadline I would almost guarantee it. UNLESS... he has another set of charges filed and then also dropped 2 months later like he has his whole life. |

as in kind of lone-wolf type or just doesn't like anyone? - Sabresfan-365
No, just likes to keep to himself mostly but is also willing to out and help in the community. He knows he has had some issues and Pegula was not happy. It was addressed. |

This year's draft is about as shallow as a 2 year old's piss puddle. - JVince11
Alot of experts said the 2014 draft was going to be very weak that looks ridiculous now correct?

all the more reason to increase your odds? teams more likely to give up those picks for pending ufa's and such. - Sabresfan-365
No meaning that the value of the 2nd round pick is diminished to that of like a 3rd or maybe 4th rounder.
You want to trade Evander Kane for a Justin Kea? |

my post was more geared towards the point about 2nd rounders in general, not kane specifically. |

How do you expect to develop players if you don't have any picks? - GERBE!!!75PTS
How do you expect to have a decent team if all you ever have is prospects and picks? When does it end ? You get a player like Kane and want to ship him out and the cycle starts all over again. |

It's not that people don't want him to stay..
but if we're in the playoff picture next year we're not going to trade him correct so we would lose him for nothing if he doesn't sign here..
They should set a deadline in the summer to sign him if he doesn't you should move him |

We have a lot of good pieces trade at the deadline
If everything goes right we could end up with 3 second-round picks and maybe a first
We could definitely use that ammo in the summer time to trade for a defenseman or move up in the draft - GERBE!!!75PTS
Makes sense to me
I just saw that we extended Falk a few days ago
I missed that
I'd like to see us do the same with Fedun
Not that these guys are great,
but as 6-8 defensemen...
idk that we could ask for more |

No.. they said besides the top 3 or 4 solid picks then it was weak.. the top 4 is what makes that class even worth the extra Charmin toilet paper.
After that... you have a few good ones like Ehlers, Nylander, and Larkin but the rest are very spotty like Ritchie, Virtanen, Fleury, Fiala, Vrana, Honka, Sanheim, etc.
Lots of possible busts and "WHO?" in there too. |

The second round picks are for expiring contract players not Kane
I'm hoping to get a solid Prospect that's ready for the NHL for Kane
Or a established player |

If you have a guy like Nylander, Bailey, etc stepping up in your top 6 then sure I can understand that but Gionta is a UFA and playing big right now. Ennis won't be back I bet... Moulson thankfully is having a resurgence this year.
My point is.. you go from a possible playoff team with Kane to a bottom 7 team without him if you don't have other pieces to step in. |

I don't know what the + was but Bailey has been off the table in talks for awhile now. - SABRES 89
Assuming Bailey is indeed off the table...
I think Fasching & Baptiste could both attractive pieces in a trade
Especially when u consider the expansion draft,
Bc they won't have to be protected...
whereas guys like Girgs, Larsson & Carrier would need to be
I think the offseason could get VERY interesting with what players end up moving around
We are in a good spot to take advantage of some teams |

Few good ones ? Ehlers , nylander , Larkin are more then good
Then you have Pastrnak that right now maybe could be the 2nd overall pick in a redraft
The draft is pretty stacked now IMO lots of very good players |

Like i said.. you have a few top end players.. then... about out of 30... about 20 big ???s and a few possible gems. It's not like it was a gold mine. |

If I'm the GM and trading Kane, I should be getting the likes of Fowler, Theodore and possibly their first rounder back in return.
I see no reason to trade him unless I'm getting a haul in return for him. |
