I'd be better to try to work something out with Vegas for them to take him as our Expansion draft pick. That 3.8M in 2018-19 will hurt us. Moulson and 2018 2nd for a 3rd. - sskkoo1
I have a feeling that in order to get rid of him we'll be holding salary in some way. we can only take 50% so I think the minimum we'll be paying him per year to get rid of him is $2.5 |

True. We'll be holding on to some of his money. But with Vegas, they still have to meet the cap floor, so they can easily take on his contract, it might even be beneficial to them that they do if we add a little something extra. |

I would love to hear schopp and bulldog ask Murray about his expansion thought process. I'm sure he wouldn't give away too much, but he's pretty honest about his intentions when asked |

Sure, why not? Ennis, Bogo, Moulson, Gorges is 20 million tied up in wasted money, whatever we have to do in order to recoup some of that should be looked at. - sskkoo1
They will most likely all be gone by the end of next season. They will recoup the 20M. That will go to Eichel and Reinhart. |

I could see us trading Moulson and one of larsson or girgs to Vegas before the expansion draft too. |

I doubt he'll go to Vegas. He has more perceived value. We already know Anaheim was highly interested in him. I see him having more value in the league than we think. |

But do you think it's worth it to give them Larsson or Girgs just to get rid of Moulsons's contract? I think that's a bit much. Moulson is still a serviceable bottom six winger, it's just he's paid too much on a team like ours that is needing the roster spots for ready younger players and needing the cap space. I believe he can still help a team like Vegas, he can still play somewhat, he's a vet that will help out the young players, and he helps them get to the cap floor and only times up the money for two more years. Seems to me, Moulson is a win for them. But, who knows who they will pick from us, so to encourage it I would add a draft pick, maybe a 3rd. |

It'll be interesting to say the least. I think we should move either Girgs or Larsson before the draft so we don't have to protect both. I don't really have a preference. Girgs has a touch more offense and physicality and Larsson is good defensively and on draws. The only team that would trade for Larsson now is a team that's out of it, and that wouldn't probably lessen his value as well. If we're still in the race, it would be a demoralizing blow to trade Girgs unless we were getting a D man back immediately, but no playoff team would trade a D man going into April.
Either way, i'm fine with letting one of them go to shed Moulson or for a reasonable LHD |

Gorges definitely, his contract is up. Moulson will still have a year left, but it will be much easier to move or buy him out. Bogo and Ennis, I'm alright with keeping to finish out their contracts so long as they can stay healthy. When healthy, they're both solid players. The problem is, they're never healthy. |

I'm going to the game tonight. I hope we at least try Rodrigues with Eichel. I can't believe Grant is back. It's just inexplicable. Do better, GMTM |

If Moulson is on this team for the next two years plus the rest of this year, that's really poor team management

Grant is up, terrific. All the hoopla with waiving him, losing him, and reclaiming him in order to get him in Rochester, and now we bring him right back up after he's been down there two games. Sometimes, I think Murray truly is a moron. |

If he plays for D-lo, whatever.
Murray is something though. I don't really ever care about waiver pick up's, but guys who were once decent prospects like Rattie, Pullkinen, Marchenko were all waived, and the only one he cares about is the guy with 0 NHL goals |

Or make a small trade to shed a little bit of salary to take Ribeiro, though i suspect the reason no one claimed him is that his addiction/personality struggles might be back. |

Sabres have called up Derek Grant and Evan Rodrigues up from Rochester
I love when the "beat" reporter is always so far off the "beat" others in the media are posting things well before he does.

Well, a few people mentioned that Kane may be out because of the way he crashed into the boards the other night. So, if Grant takes his roster spot, who is Rodriguez taking? Is it D-Lo's? I think the league is due to start seeing some player movement, too many teams on the bubble for a wild card. |

Or he's 37 (tomorrow) and there's not much in the tank. |
