Rumour is they want an ELC player back for him according to dregs/twitter so this may be much ado about nothing
- Sabresfan-365

For sure, I'd think they go after the leafs, yotes or jets

Anyone else think that Rodriguez may be being called up to be showcased as trade bait? Has he been worthy lately of being called up before Bap, Nylander, or Fasching?

I'm not sure how much value an undrafted undersized player would have, plus it's not like he is tearing it up down there.

How about:

Anaheim: Kane, Girgs
Buffalo: Fowler, Montour, Theodore, Ana 1st round pick.

That would be a great haul for us and solidify our D.

Von Dudensteins,

Samsonite vs. Risto in the Sabres Showdown tonight. Looks like we might have an all defense semi on the gold side of the bracket. Risto should be favorite on the hardest shot although I don't think the shot speed is measured if you don't hit the net. Sam will get accuracy and breakaway is a toss up. I love these. Anyone find it odd that Kane wasn't involved? Was he not invited because they weren't sure he would be on the team when it aired? Also, don't know if anyone caught it, but ROR's nickname is "The Factor." That's awesome! Should really burn the progressive liberals that contribute to this thread.

I'm just referring to Rodriguez as a throw in on a package of something bigger. Kind of like how Kasdorf was tossed into the Kane trade.

He grew up playing Center and that's where the need was... my best guess.

I can't understand how trading Kane makes this team better but everyone is so gung ho on this blog to get rid of him.

Not everyone

If i am TM though i see what his intentions are for the future, if he does not plan on staying here. Trading for a guy like Theodore is not a bad idea. But that would be the only logical reason i would see him getting moved.

rid of is a strong phrase. We're talking about trading him for a d-man. A good d-man. Thats just business.

agreed we gave up a lot to get him. I don't think moving him for a d-men is a good move. all your doing is creating another hole to fill on this team. and unless you get someone established you could be getting a ristro, or a mike weber.

We have plenty of time to get a D man, you don't move a power forward like Kane to get a D man.

My point is, GMTM gave up alot to bring Kane here. So IMO, we should be getting a haul in return for trading him out.

I totally agree with you. That's why my "Unrealistic" trade has been proposed. I better be getting 3-Men and 1st rounder in return if I'm trading Kane out.

I'd only trade Kane now for an overpay. Probably won't happen. So nothing to really worry about.

You trade up any time you can trade up.

This is a trade up - we have three of four young talents who can fill Kane's shoes (Bailey, Baptiste, Fashing, Carrier?) but nobody close to ready to take over in the first pair.

**I love how Kane is playing now***

It's one more off ice/injury away from "Can we get a prospect for him?"

If Murray can sell him high, fantastic job

it's not just that, i know hes taking better shots but as you said that sh% is going to come down.

The other night he took 2 penalties that resulted in 2 goals. you're going to have to give something up to get that defencemen, if you can sell high on kane it puts you in a great position. especially since i dont know if you want to be the team giving him a contract extension.

None of those guys can fill Kane's shoe's and putting Fashing in that group is a long shot as are the other 3.

How do you know ?Fashing has done nothing but vanish since we got him, we know what we can get so far from Carrier and the other 2 aren't ready. You don't remove a power forward like Kane for a D man when we still may not make the playoffs and have contracts coming off the books for next year. We will have plenty of time to get a LHD D man.

But for the sake to save on arguments, i'll just agree with everyone to move Kane. Most have wanted him gone since he got her anyway.
