The Elmwood Inn is just down the road from Schallers on Mt. Hope.

Nurses. Like bobbing for apples.

I saw that place on the way. Is that the one with the motel right next door?

There's a nice hotel in College Town, diagonal across from the Elmwood. That's all new though.

Back in the day my bachelor house was in that part of town. We have a few over near the UofR now but I haven't stopped in the Elmwood in 10 years.

I would rather watch a game where we lose 6-3 than the type of duds we put up against Carolina, NJ and other stifling teams. I'd rather our team learns to score in a fun offensive system now, and we can play a more sound defensive game when we get two more good defensemen
- jcragcrumple

These guys have known how to play offense their whole lives
It's the defense in their own end that Eichel, Reinhart & all the other young forwards need to work on

I think I'm resigned to the idea that there will be no turning points in the season, they're an inconsistent team that we'll consistently see more ups and downs from

Quick (Positive) Note for once... for all the dead weight comments, Moulson and Gio have been sneaky good. Not saying theyre worth their cap hits but even in limited minutes theyve produced.

IMO the problem is the consistency with 15, 23, 90. When on, theyre great but there is NO excuse they cant out play players like Hall, Zajac, Palmari or skinner, J Staal, aho.

Long story short..our best players need/ should outplay the any other eastern teams best players between us and the last playoff spot.

I mean at the NHL level. Bylsma seems to preach good D generates offense but our lack of scoring seems to indicate otherwise. I think we need to play to what should be our strength - offense. We have 20 goal guys in Okposo, O'reilly, Eichel, Reinhart, Ennis and Kane (not gonna include moulson). I'd like to give those guys a chance to stretch their legs a bit more.

I'm fine watching odd man rushes against if it means we get to see more odd man rushes for like in last night's game. It'll be easier to preach a defensive game when we a solid #2 pair. For now, let them score

Since Eichel came back we are top10 in scoring
The power play is top5 now I believe, or right around ther
Our issue isn't that we can't score
It's possession & team defense...
limiting shots needs to be a focus, as does defensive zone coverage, and especially picking up guys joining the rush in our own end

Disagree about Moulson, he's a lost cause at this point. His contract is so bad that he won't go anywhere other than the 4th line. If he can score 10-12 on the PP then I guess it sin't as bad as last year, but 5M on the 4th line for 10 goals isn't sneaky good...it's clearly bad.

Gio has been sneaky good. I hope they give him another year...after he surrenders the C to Jack in the offseason. Multiple times I've bad mouthed Gio and the old dog is proving me wrong. Moulson though is beyond a stretch to me.

Agree with all of the above except ROR is the next captain, Jack and Risto with the A's.

I totally agree the d zone coverage needs to be better, I just don't think we have an NHL caliber second D pair to do that. Since we seem to be incapable of limiting shots, I'd enjoy watching them open up more to generate more shots.

My opinion is against pretty much every NHL coach's philosophy that D should be played not O, so I don't expect this to happen.

Just a personal preference. If we're going to win 2, lose 2, why not do it with a more fun style?

It's a compilation from N64 NHL '99, 2K5 for Xbox and some other stuff. I'm in my mid 20s and remember all those games, so for me, it's pretty awesome. They also tweek it on game nights to picture footage of the opposing team. They recreated Afinogenov's spinning and played real footage with it too. I love it

100% would rather have the contract gone and agree he cant be moved but the fact he has more points than marcus kinda shows he's making the best of that situation. Long story short, he's not the reason were losing games imo and it could be much worse

RoR is probably the outcome, but not sure this isn't becoming "Jack's team" in a certain way. As long as Gio hands the reins over to one of them I'll be satisfied...time to turn the page and they are our Captains of the future.

Our inconsistencies probably stem from a number of different things, but Moulson and Foligno play almost polar opposite style games so not sure they're the best comparables (not to mention Marcus is 1/4th the price). Foligno is a "heavy" and Moulson should be a goal scorer. If he can't produce 5 v 5 and is a liability in the D-zone then he's probably one of those several factors. Defense is probably our biggest issue, but you're right it isn't like if we lost Moulson we'd be contenders.

Hahah were falling into a rabbit hole, but yeah he's not the reason imo 15,23 ,90 need to play like the last 10 minutes not the first 50. Also Defensively our d isn't awful it's the transition/ passing from those D that have been killing us. when it clicks we can roll with the best of them

have also been noticing that the forwards are not making it easy on the d-men for a breakout....they need to be more accessible and in better spots to take a pass...not sayin it the reason 100% of the time, but every little bit helps
