have also been noticing that the forwards are not making it easy on the d-men for a breakout....they need to be more accessible and in better spots to take a pass...not sayin it the reason 100% of the time, but every little bit helps

Last matty mo comment.. After last year i thought it was going to be MUCH worse and imo he's improved...

Funny you bring up the forwards not helping in the transition. Especially when jacks out there i feel when the D get the puck he finds himself skating back towards them to get an easy/ drop pass instead and then rushing the entire length of the ice instead of stretching the ice trusting the D to make the pass

I remember Jeremy telling Howard how no sabres can hit jack in stride like Mcdavid and others. Typically it's because he has the puck or is swinging back to get it.

May not be a bad thing either just something ive noticed

a lot of adjustments for this team, especially with all the injuries they suffered early in the season...this team is just over a year and a half into a new system...it takes time...and I agree that it takes talent as well

the game's way too fast for matty mo

Exactly, hands may have come back to where he's serviceable on the 2nd PP Unit, but 5 on 5 his lack of speed shows big time.

Look at the blue jackets... Last year injuries to major players crushed that team, they trusted the process and stayed the course. Didn't go wild in the offseason and let guys like wennberg and werenski develop in the minors. The chemistry will come. The cores here and guhle /nylander will hopefully develop nicely if not rushed

They have been playing better since Jack has been back. I wonder if we'd be in the playoffs right now if he didn't miss those 21 games.

almost all of his goals have come on the PP and a bulk of that came when he was on PP1 when eichel was out. soon as he came back same moulson. I think he has what 6 5v5 points in the last 40?

Again, NOT SAYING he's close to worth the cap hit but a goals a goal if he can play 8 minutes a night (2 min on the powerplay) and help put points on the score board until a buyout is reasonable then he's not losing us games. It's a bad situation that could be much worse

No but your original point was that its on 15, 23 and 90. 15's "inconsistency" isnt costing us the same way having a 5 mil guy not produce worth a damn at 5v5 or keep up speed wise is.

Bulk of our wins have come when one or more of those guys has taken over. Problem is you cant ask 3 guys to take over every night, its where your depth should help. Kane/Gio yes, Moulson not really.

End of the day Mouls has more points that zemgus/ marcus/larry etc. Someones gotta score and i could careless if you play 7 minutes or 13. But even with below average production from 26 and others i still feel 15,23 & 90 so be able to outplay other teams best players on a nightly basis.

He's not wrong though. During a pretty long drought by 90, 15, and 23 in terms of goals over the last few weeks, it's been Gionta and Kane keeping us afloat. Which game was it where the Kane line had all 3 goals in a loss?

no in general hes right about guys like ror and even reinhart im singling out eichel and moulson as the example cause i think its a little extreme to both ends.

If this team has averaged 6 high danger scoring chances a game for the last 3 weeks(pulling a number out of thin air) 3 come from that line the other 3 come from eichel's stick. Moulson accounts for almost none of that.

True, but how much of that came before eichel? I agree you should be getting more from 90 and 23 but to expect it every night is asking a lot. The teams at the top usually get it from everyone in the top 9. We're getting it from 15, 9 and 12.

For as excellent as Kane has been, he's bound to cool off, he's shooting at a higher % than he has over the last 5 years.

Going to need some other depth to come up with some goals, or heaven forbid anyone on defense scores.

I agree with that. This is more to the buffalo media (ik it's bad for the health to read their stuff) while it's easy to bash 26, 6, 47, 44, 63 for the record (Post injuries) it's unfair not to look at the big guys failing to produce in more recent losses to divisional teams. When on 15, 23, 90 can make others look much better in their role

Since the Sharks went up 4-1 last night...
we outshot them 13-6 in the last (roughly) 15minutes

This team has the ability to dominate (or at least play really well) against the best teams in the league

I know it sucks being patient...
but it's coming guys

These great periods will turn into great games
And then we'll start winning with regularity

Just gotta give the kids a little more time to develop into consistent Pros

Philly is in 8th
If we win the game in hand we have on them,
We're only 3pts out

The rest of this season will probably be pretty frustrating at times (like the Devils game)... but we're gonna make it an interesting finish

Let's try to enjoy the ride
Go Sabres!

agreed. Id single out ROR more than anyone else. his beard may be great in the locker room but seen enough to think the C should be going to Eichel.
